It is very unlikely that medicaid will ever cover the brand, and I am not aware of any assistance program for Oxycontin.
There is no reason that the generic would upset his stomach anymore than the brand. It is probably "placebo" effect. If he is in enough pain, I imagine he will get over the nausea.

I thought Oxycontin was only available in brand name. It hasn't been on the market long enough (between 7 and 11 years) for a generic has it?

There is a generic for Oxycontin 80mg only. I don't get it. Usually, it is a drug that loses its patent, not a specific strength. . .
