Someplace that it can get a lot of sun, and can't be seen or smelled by those damn straight-edges... Yet close enough to get to quickly. I just started growing mine on the side of my house that no one ever goes to, but as soon as they start to smell I'm going to move them up into this set of hills near my house.

Biggest problem everyone has planting outside is wildlife
eating them. Use chicken wire or nets. Believe me they
will get eaten by all sorts of animals.

And I would water it lightly every day, by using a medicine dropper at first. Then once it get to like 3/4 of an inch tall then give it a little more. Not too much though. And if you ever see it start to wilt a little then that means it needs more water.

where i live in florida, my house faces west so i have sun on my balcony from 12 pm to around sunset. is taht good enough, and its fairly high so the smeel wouldnt be where people constanly there, and the only bug up there is the occasional spider or ant( water ant things)

Yeah, that is enough light for it grow. But because of that amount of sunlight the bud won't be as potent. It will, however, be ready to harvest in about two months instead of four to six.

The lenght of the daylight expousure will NOT effect the potency. It will effect the total yield (read ultimate size of the plant), but 6 hours of direct sunlight a day will give decent results.
---------------
If the rest of the day the plant is shaded (in Florida, anyway) there will probably still be enough light in the mid-summer to keep the plant from flowering much earlier than usual.
Or at least that's been my experience.

What kind of light is it under?
And yes, amt. of sunlight DOES affect potency. MJ grown in the shade for instance won't grow potent buds.

it usually gets sunlight & sometimes light from a black light
