any stoner from north-east ohio should know about nelson's ledges. So me and 4 of my friends wanted to go up there...our problblem is that the driver had to many miles on his leased car...solution we took our friends mom's car, she is on a cruise, so we figued she'd never find out...so we were off!, i even drove the car a little...so we went up there, and no one was there yet, so we went to get something to eat and come back....we're comming up the road in the state park, and a cop pulls us over...(no front tag) so he talks to us for a while, and just needed to talk to the driver and we'd be on our way...(we had all the informaion he needed) so the driver had cigerettes on him,(i guess thats illegal for a 16 yr old)so the cop took his, and then he asked if any one else had cigrettes, and the guy who's mom's car we were driving did, so he handed them over...and the cop wanted to pat him down...he had a pipe, then we were in trouble...my brother had a pipe too, but we shoved it under a seat...so the pig found out we took the car w/o permission and searched the car(i am soo lucky he dident find the pipe)...so he calls everyones parents, and lets us take the car home so he dident have to impound it...on the way home , we got a shit load of weed, and faced ourt parents( well i ddent get into trouble girls are good at pleading ignorance!
have a good laugh at me...i know i did...enjoy, and beware of the ledges...the cops are stupid, but dont be obvious

I know this is a looong-dead thread but I ran across it and decided to respond.
any stoner from north-east ohio should know about nelson's ledges. Anyone that likes music other then the radio/media/corporate drivel that is spoon fed to the masses should also know about NLQP. The music scene there is outrageously good.
we're comming up the road in the state park, and a cop pulls us over...(no front tag) so he talks to us for a while, and just needed to talk to the driver and we'd be on our way...A festival checklist:
1) Check all lights, plates, registration on your vehicle.
2) Make sure your driver has a valid license and insurance.
3) Place anything possibly incriminating in a locked trunk.
4) Have everyone double check that they are legal (no warrants etc.).
4) Stay straight until you get to the venue and stay there if you partake.
the cop wanted to pat him down...he had a pipe, then we were in trouble...my brother had a pipe too Strange thing about Ohio. up to 100 grams of weed in a single container is a ticket. A pipe, scales, extra baggies and even rolling papers can get you fried by the law.
Never consent to a search. If you are sure you have absolutely nothing in the vehicle make them bring out the dogs. You may save someone that is carrying. Don't plead Constitutional rights, just tell them that they are wasting their time and you wish to go.
enjoy, and beware of the ledges...the cops are stupid, but dont be obviousThe ledges are fine. The rules are clear there and posted.
The cops are just doing their "job". Work to change the laws (especially the Controlled Substances Act's stance on marijuana). If you give the police any reason at all to pull you over, or if they are bored or running a checkpoint, you are going to have trouble.
In your case the front license plate was the excuse. I have heard of police even using lame lines like "You were swerving within your own lane." as a reason to pull someone over.
Let's face it, if you have a Grateful Dead sticker on your vehicle, are sporting long hair, are wearing a tye-dye or have dreads you are going to be harrassed. Sadly youth seems to be a thing that is also profiled by the authorities.
my dad is playing there this weekend in the danny longhair band...Gah! Why would he do that? That Danny is a strange bird that flies around making music unlike what most people make.
Hmmm, wonder who your dad is now. Obviously I must know him.
Peace through Truth,
-Danny
