Thanks, Amanda, but the credit for the idea goes to Brian (monosphere). He thought it was needed, and I just agreed with him and set it up with Skip.
I think so too, though.

Wow! That was quick! Thank you for doing this, Angel. I don't think you realize how much this means to me. My original thought was for my own personal needs, but now I'm seeing the big picture and how beneficial this could be for everyone. Again, I REALLY appreciate you doing this.

Think nothing of it, Brian. There was a need, and it never pays to procrastinate. Now all we need to do is get the word out. I'm going to send a bunch of PMs tonight.

Thank you, everyone.
Now, the next thing to be done is to get the word out about this forum so that we can start getting a bit more traffic in here, so I'm going to add a link to this forum to my signature. Please tell anyone you know who might be interested about it too!

I have a 14 year old son who frequently becomes depressed and feels all alone in his pain....He is a bright kid, sharp as a tack but unfortunately, he gets misunderstood. I thank the caring folks at this website for dedicating a small portion of it to those who may need it to most......and to Jon, a dear friend's brother who died too young, so long ago; the folks left behind never forgive themselves.

We're glad to be able to help.
I used to take in teenagers when my own kids were still at home and I had my house--many of them were called 'incorrigible' by their own parents. It was so sad, but once I got them into my family, they just seemed to become different people. At home, they knew that they were expected to fail, and they did. Once they were in a place where they were respected, loved, and expected to be the best kids they could be, they did. Kids will let you down if they feel that you expect them to, and that's not their fault. In a positive and supportive environment, the "worst" kid can be a real blessing and become a good and loving person. I've seen it happen over and over.
There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part teens are just misunderstood, not "bad".

Aww... thank you, Claire. *hugs* But in all honesty, all I did was make a suggestion. Our beloved Forums Mom did all the work. She deserves all the credit.
