make your own butter

1 pint heavy cream

Fill airtight containers approximately half full with heavy cream. Securely cover containers and shake until thickened. Pour off the buttermilk, either save it or discard it, and place butter in a serving dish if you wish. You could also add a little salt to the butter if you so desire.

hehe...yes i've done this before.....

i suppose it would be a good workout for the biceps......

I remember reading that adding a large marble can aid in thickening it faster. Have you tried that?

i have heard of this....i think it acts as more of a timing device....once you can't hear it anymore, the butter is thick enough.....but maybe it does help to thicken the butter quicker......but i don't know......i think you are doing most of the work by shaking the jar.....should we do an experiment?

just make sure that marble is clean......

Ohh yes that does sound familiar. Hmm now i'm not sure...logically it would seem that the marble would also help in the development but who knows. Yes an experiment! I just wish i had some creme and marbles in the house.
