UK growers please reply

Has anybody had much success growing Outdoors in the UK.
Please, this is just for people living and growing in the UK
climate as I'm curiuos to know if it's feasible or not.

Over the years I have always grown about 10 to 30 plants
a year in some woods, strains such as
Super Skunk
Power Plant
Early Girl
Durban Poison
They have grown brilliantly through the veg stage, ie, 5' +
and bushy, etc, but when it came to budding it was poor
and not only that the overall dried out bud when smoked
was nothing to write home about.

So, I am just curious if anyone else has had much luck
growing out in the open, no greenhouses, no protection.
Have you managed to produce some top bud.?
If so, what strain did you use.

I'm not convinced it's possible to produce to bud under
the UK climate.

I grow outdoors (Midlands) vegging then bring them indoors for the flowering!

I've just started some seeds off these last couple of days inc. Skunk No.1, BubbleGme, Bubbleishous, NL, WW and Jock Horror!)

Yes thats what I had in mind to do if I decide to grow this year.
It seems the only way to do it.
UK weather can get a bit dodgy around autumn.
Mine seem to bud really well, ie, pistils everywhere but a week
or two later not much more growth/bud.

Anyway, do you have much luck with yours when you put them
to flower under lights.? Can you produce top buds and does it
smoke well, etc. My attempts, the smoke I get is really poor, ie,
almost virtually no effect and I can never produce tight little
nuggets like you get in Amsterdam.
I suppose a 400watt HPS would do the trick.????????

I wouldnt say its the best but I've had some damn fine smoke (If I can find the pics I'll try and post some to show you) yeah I get a top bud and some of the smoke has been (effect wise) pretty good I grew some killer NL that got me feeling all speedy last year!

I only use a 250watt HPS as well!

i'm on another forum and theres a few peeps there that have had alright outdoor grows. except the forum got wiped a while back and all that infos gone now :( but its possible :) i guess its just a combination of the right type of seed, something quick flower probably, and if your lucky with the weather ...

maybe your getting your harvest time wrong nemisis, cos it seems weird thats your getting bud ( even if only a small amount ) but that its having any effect

i got a 250w light as well, flowered 4 plants under that on the first grow, job well done :)

I waited about 6 to 7 weeks after it started to bud,
roughly when the majority of the pistils started
turning brown, etc. I chopped them down let them
dry out naturally but the bud was very fiborous and
a bit hard to pull apart, if you know what I mean.
The familiar ''tight little nuggets'' were nowhere to be
seen, just lots of green leaf and if I tried to manicure
it down, hardly anything was left of the actual bud.
But apart from all that the effect of the smoke was
quite crap and way too mild for me.

Anyway, cheers ''Jon'' and ''ekul le chet'', just needed
to know if anyone really had much success outdoors
in the UK. Think the only way to go is HPS at the end
of the year. I'm dying to get something thats decent
to smoke that tastes good and gets me stoned and it's
not as if I'm growing from inferior seeds either as I go
to Amsterdam every Feb to get the little buggers.
