After letting my seeds germinate, i planted them and covered with a millimeter or 2 of soil. Strange thing was it too about 2 weeks for anything to break through the soil, and yes i planted the seeds with the white root thing down. Any ideas what could have happened?

Older seedstock will have pooor germination rates and the plants generally take forever to come up. I have some old stock coming up now- two weeks and they are still coming up. Two today.
Im getting about a 5 or ten percent germ rate- I left the seeds in the napkins two days- almost all the seeds that had popped a root- did not sprout from the dirt.
A bunch of them didnt crack a root- and I planted them in dirt - those are coming up now. I think the ones that craked drowned in the napkin, and the others came up in dirt better.
these particular seeds I figure to be about five years old or so.Im planting all of the old ones this year- so all my seedstock will be fresh.
my best advice would be :
dont leave them in the napkin over 24 hours- i find 18 best.
WATER THEM TWICE DAILY FOR THREE DAYS, then once a day for four days, then let the soil dry {a little on top} between waterings .
