My dad agreed to let me grow marijuana, I told him I could use fluros which produce no heat etc;, but do u have to switch the lights when the plant is flowering? cuz my dad dont want no lites that produce heat in my closet. Could I just use the fluros instead? and maybe have a heater running every now and then to keep the enviroment warm?

Try compact flouros. Tubes will produce stringy, light weight buds.

If you use compact flouros, make sure they're very close to your plants. White paint or mylar in your grow box will help make the most of the limited light the CFs will throw.

great news weedman
good luck
Try getting a teck light t-5.... just ask meangreen about it he's running one.
im pretty sure you can get a redder flouro tube these days.
and i know for sure you can get full spectrum bulbs .
i'll hunt arounds and see what kinda bulbs you can run.
im pretty sure discount hydro has the t-5 .-
ventillation and humidity will be major concerns you must deal with=- but i doubt you'll need a heater in there.
good luck bud.

I'm confused
posted in Mercury Vapoor Lights?
Mercury vapor light will produce low yielding but potent plants.
but here your telling WeeDMaN to use compact floros, all the compact floros I've seen are mercury vapor lights.
So compact floros? good or bad?

follow that link and see it is not mercury vapor, but very high output flourecent.
very good for veg or seedlings, small but decent buds with full spectrum bulbs.
especially useful with heat concerns...

I think its cuz fluro tubes are kinda dimmer than compact fluros, which give off more light and help the buds get bigger.
