View Full Version : Movin' On To Better Places....

All things change, as they must. This includes myself. When I first came to this site I was appalled at how the values that the original hippies fought so hard for had been turned around and made into a cult of fashion followers.

In the process I found some folks who were still capable of having fun and we did have fun here... for a time. That changed also.

When I left as Sam and came back as Xe, I did so for the handful of those whom I thought were honest. They were not. In fact, those who spout the concept of truth turned out to be bigger liars than I ever was. They still are, despite the call to be "true to one's self".

Hippiehillbilly was way ahead of me in recognizing this, and to him I owe my only appology.

This site now represents a source of anger to me that can be changed very simply... leave and let it go.

So, I say good-bye to the few friends and many enemies I have made during my participating 2 1/2 years here. Being quite sure that my departure brings relief to those still wrapped up in self delusion, I leave you with these words...

"The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason. It is not only the most important rule, but the simplest.

Nonetheless, it is the one most often ignored and violated, and by far the most despised. It must be wielded in spite of the ceaseless, howling protests of the wicked.

Misery, iniquity, and utter destruction lurk in the shadows outside its full light, where half-truths snare the faithful disciples, the deeply feeling believers, the selfless followers.

Faith and feelings are the warm marrow of evil. Unlike reason, faith and feelings provide no boundary to limit any delusion, any whim. They are virulent poison, giving the numbing illusion of moral sanction to every depravity ever hatched.

Faith and feelings are the darkness to reason's light.

Reason is the very substance of truth itself. The glory that is life is wholly embraced through reason. In rejecting it, in rejecting reason, one embraces death."

Well Sammy...
I know you're going to do what your going to do....
But I also know that I am one of your friends here and it is a comfort when I respond to a post of yours and you respond to one of mine.

I have not been around much myself and as I get a chance to come and look around there are more and more new names here and less and less postings by the old familiars....heavy to my heart as I have continually lost people and places in my life.

BUT...hey, you have my address, my e-mail,and my phone number...use 'em please...I don't want to loose you too.
I have yours and I will keep in touch.

I love you sister....
And I think about you every day as when I go out I see the plants you sent peeking more and more at the sun.

Yep, I'll mis you too, Sam...I haven't posted here much (or anywhere, really, for the last few months), but I read here regularly, and enjoy what I read.

As I've said before, I thoroughly enjoyed our talks back when Xe had her forum...things are well here, and moving along well...and I wish you the best of luck and love always!!

I too have a sad and heavy heart. Checking here has become a part of my daily routine, as much as coffee or checking the garden. I guess we'll have to find a new place to hang out. Well, anyhow ...

See ya'll around,
Peace,

Bye, Marsha.

Peace and long life to you.

May loving-kindness guide your way.

May compassion be the light along your path.

And, may your life be altruistic for all beings.

With loving-kindness and compassion, I remain your friend,

Darrell

I've just about had my fill of all the Bull Shit that one must endure inorder to post in the Old Hippies forum myself. The Old Hippies forum has now been taken over by posers and teenagers. In fact,I can't remember the last time I saw one of our so-called moderators submit a post or even a brief reply to a post. Now what does that tell you? :(

Surely not in this thread, in this forum !!!

In a forum, in a thread it must be addressed for all to see ... but where ???

I hope it's not to late. Sorry to hear abot your decision, but ok. You gave me the courage in the old forum to post in a language, I learned 30 years ago at school and I allways liked your style of writing, I learned a lot from you, like what bozzo on the bus means. Thanks for having been here.
Wish you a fine time,
Namaste,
Juergen
