I've been looking online at various sites looking for ways to germinate seeds and I have found many techniques. I'm a first time grower, but I live in a place where indoor is not an option, so I have to grow outdoors. I figure it is starting to be the season to plant, so I should get ready. I am not growing many plants, I plan to plant about maybe 8 or so, grouped, but in many different areas. I was going to plant them in pots for mobility. How should I start my first 4 seeds? And if it is still raining and somewhat cold outside, is it okay to germinate indoors then move outdoors, or will it shcok the plant?

You can start them indoors. Get a piece of paper towel, get it nicely damp. Wrap the seeds in the towel and make sure the towel stays damp and stored in a dark place. Check on them every other day. When they have sprouted, plant them about 1" under some loose potting soil in a small, well-drained, pot/cup. Place the showing root UPWARDS, toward the top of the pot. This allows the root to make a natural bend back down toward the bottom of the cup, and provides this top-heavy plant with a little stability.

You should really look up more online before you get into this though. Although it sounds easy to grow (and it is after a while), it is a science and an art. Many, many things can go wrong, so do some research and don't waste your time.

i used maricle grow plant food spikes and boy they shot up fast.....i put them in a day before i planted the seeds and watered. the next day i planted and the next day i had alot of good size sprouts. I kno a lil bit about growing but wow these grew fast. They're now a week old and already starting to develope the two smaller leaves, as well as the second part of the stem. I put them on a 12/12 light cycle and they're loving it. if your growing outside. be careful....watch the weather, if rains is coming, u Must bring them in. i had a few i didnt and they drowned real fast. Other than that. GOOD LUCK and may ur crop be wonderful. Keep us posted.

If you have plenty of seeds, and you've past the below 50 wheather, just soak them a day in water, then plant them in the ground.

Otherwise, use the paper towel method.
