This is going to sound stupid but here it goes. I am looking for a certain variety of apple. It it very similar in appearance to a red delicious. Quite aromatic, this apple maintains a slightly softer texture inside. Unlike most varieties, it lacks tang and has a very sweet taste. I would say it is much sweeter than a gala.

could you possibly be refering to the pink lady apple? :D :D
it's native to western australia, though it's found in grocery stores in the states. they're a hybrid... red delicious and lady william apples, i think? they're really pink outside and crisp and bright white on the inside.
i just found out about some pink lady apples, and they are the most wicked apple in existance. seriously, best apple i've ever tasted. wow. they're good sliced up and dipped in caramel sauce.
good luck finding your apple. even if it's not the pink lady, it's always good to have your apple.

Sundowner Apples - Your regular run of the mill red and green skinned apple, crisp inside.
Fuji Apple - A glossy skin with a dull red and green skin
Pink Lasy Apple - pinkish skined apple
Golden delicious - soft inside goldish yellow skin.
Jonothan Apples- a bit like a sundowner
Summer Red apples - again like a sundowner
Granny smith - crisp and green
Cortland or something like that
