I'm not from that area... Here $5 is about the norm per joint, but an eighth for $25? I buy my stuff from a nice elderly couple for $110 for half an ounce.

man when i was on vacation, we bought 2 j's off a guy at this dive of a club. we got back to my friends house and unwrapped one to use in the bub and it was double papered and not even that much weed in it. 5 bucks per joint but it was some seriously dank shit. we smoked one at like 1:30 am and woke up about 7am still high.
