swab test???

I was talking to a friend of mine who works at Dominicks because i was thinking of getting a job there. I asked him if they drug tested him and he said that they did but it wasnt a piss test. They swabbed the back of his mouth. I think that saliva tests only come up positive if you've smoked within the last half hour or so but does anyone know of anything different?? I mean, if this test is like i think it is, then i can start smoking again.

you might want to research that. cuz ive heard that it is used to see how much THC is in your system, and when you eat and drink it dramatically reduces it. dunno just what ive heard.

my one freind did coke and weed 2 hours before he had that test and he passed it

That method is usually used to test for Strep Throat. I doubt it would work to detect THC.

I think that saliva tests are a very promising developement. It looks for traces of whatever drug you did in your spit.
Y'see, your saliva cycles itself, and in about three hours it'll have no trace of any drug in it. This means that there is a good way of determining if someone is smoking pot on the job, which no employer wants, or if someone is driving under the influence, which the general public doesn't want.

actually that sounds like a good thing. If its legalized then they could use swab tests jsut like breathalizers for drunk drivers.

I would rather have that than piss tests. If I were an emplyer I would never hire someone who came to the interview high, and this shows that. It doesn't detect what you do in the privacy of your home etc etc

My dad gave me a couple of those in high school when I wasn't on good terms with him.I don't think they are to accurate and the ones I had were 24 hour .I used to try some of them out for fun to see if i would pass.

hmm.. alright, thanks fr the info guys... i tried looking it up online but all i got was sights tryingto sell the tests and not really explaining what they did exactly or how long after use they can detect THC

i had the swab test at publix a couple of months ago. i still work there, by the way! they tested me a couple of hours after i had smoked and i passed it, obviously. it was weird. i had never heard of such a thing as testing with a swab...i felt violated.

i have to take a test for my new life insurance policy. I think they are going to take a swab test, and look for weed and nicotine. I read about the weed factor from this thread, but what about nicotine?? And if they take a piss test, then how long do i have with that? Does that even trace nicotine??
