Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

okay, this is a little cheezey but i wanted to start a gratitude thread. i did a search and couldnt find one that was already started. i'm trying to maintain a positive attitude in my life...

anyways,

i'm grateful that my new neighbours dont listen to country music because if i had to listen to them playing some country song over and over again at 3 am, i think i'd go insane. i'm very happy that they like nirvana. :D i'm also grateful for my white noise machine. it's worth its weight in gold.

that was a great post. It's easy to keep in mind when things are ok, though, but when you can't do it you just can't do it. everyone would be happy to feel gratitude. I'm very greatful for the notebook I just bought which comes with wireless internet! It doesn't connect all the time but when it does it is of unimaginable sweetness. I'm grateful too for weeeeeeeeed!!

i'm thankful that my car is still running. it took me to one of the most beautiful places around here today.

i'm grateful for trees so big that it would take 4 or 5 people holding hands to completely encircle them.

hurray for sunshine!! and warm weather!!

Oh Dearest Creator

I pray that you hear me, oh dearest Creator.
For my will has been weak, and laziness greater.
Humbly I pray you forgive me my sins.
I know in the end the good always wins.

'Thy will be done' is my prayer to my maker.
Help me give more and be less of a taker.
Help me stay in the present, and learn from the past.
I pray wars soon end, and peacetime will last.

I thank you for nature, and thank you for love.
For grass underfoot, and the sun up above.
I thank you for life and for letting me choose.
For trials and tests, and the freedom to lose.

My hope is that you will now guide and direct me.
To be open and ready for love to detect me.
Help me make choices and do what it takes.
Let wisdom increase, let me learn from mistakes.

Please make me gracious, and treasure each day.
Remembering childhood, to laugh and to play.
Please gently correct me if ever I stray.
If I do wrong, I must know I will pay.

Thank you for truth, and exposing the lies.
Thank you for letting me open my eyes.
I'm sorry to any and all I've mistreated.
And pray my poor judgements won't be repeated.

and I still have weed.

sometimes I feel so grateful that I get paranoid. of course i'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I mean Fortune has spun her wheel and I'm now topmost. but it wasn't long ago I was at the bottom. oh the bottom. and it could come again. ugh! but not this year 2005 is a marvelous year. a wonderufl gift. it's like Christmas Sunday everyday!! you can be as happy as you wanna be! w/0 limit!

I would like to spread the gratitude by sending a small prize to 3 ppl who are not grateful. or ppl who are grateful who still want a small prize. just pm me! your entry will have best chance of being picked if it amuses me or moves me. you should also tell me what small prize you would like or i may have to pick one of my own choosing.

good luck.

I'm grateful for my parents. I couldn't have had a better set of them. They encouraged independance and openmindedness in me, and instilled self-respect and self-confidence. They actually put an effort into raising me, gave me rules I hated as a child but are thankful for as an adult (like only allowing me to watch 1/2 hour of TV a day). My mother gave me a passion for fiction, and my father gave me a passion for knoweldge. I have great parents.

"What does not kill me makes me stronger."

It's not difficult to love people who love us or treat us nice. Love grows stronger when you learn to give it to people who do not show love, and perhaps try your patience.

i have gratitude in my heart towards the little bully at the park today. he gave me a teaching opportunity and the chance to show my son how to have compassion and empathy for someone who feels that they need to be "in power" to feel loved. i was also able to teach my son how to give love to another person while still staying centered and not being emotionally trampled on.

I'm grateful for my babies.
And that I can do something with my life that has meaning for me, and still be with my babies a lot of the time.
And that we have food in the pantry
And clothes for those kids to wear
and clothes for me and my man to wear

I am grateful I have a good physician, who can treat a difficult illness, that others could not
I am grateful we have the medical insurance to pay for that treatment
I am grateful for our land, and our animals and our garden

I am grateful I still have my mind intact, and my life intact

Parmesan cheese. Grated parmesan cheese, not the block kind. Kraft. That's what I am grateful for. And lots of other stuff. But most of all, right now, I think it's grated parmesan cheese. Or at least talking about grated parmesan cheese. Or thinking about talking about grated parmesan cheese.

Basically, what I am trying to say is that I am grateful for the oppurtunity to talk about grated parmesan cheese to all you wonderful beings out there.

Kharakov

Seriously. What could be better than having a whole bunch of people read your post about grated parmesan cheese?

This is awesome. I am especially grateful for the oppurtunity to write a follow up post to my post about grated parmesan cheese. I really am trying to think of a way to put the words grated and grateful next to eachother in a sentence. I am grateful grated parmesan cheese can be said after the word grateful.

There are so many wonderful things in life to be happy about.

Like, grated parmesan cheese.
