i got charged for

possession-a roach and bout 10-15bucks worth of bud
public intoxication-in a car, i wasnt driving
paraphenilia-tobacco papers(....wtf...)

i hear it's a pretty strict county...its a first offence...what do you think? cuz i'm freaked out

i don't know american law ( i'm guessing your from america ) but i can't see your going to jail for a blunt! wouldn't make any senses ... but america doesn't seem to ;)

move to the uk, its not legal but you get caught with a blunt they'd just take it off you and let you go :)

what state do you live in? that makes all the difference. you could get anything from a fine to probation to jail time. it all depends on the state laws.
Whoever arrested you is a major asshole. any halfway decent cop wouldve only charged you for the weed.

America isn't bad as you think.They try to keep the people who arn't heavy into drugs or dealers out of jail.Otherwise you will end up with a drug charge and just end up like the people in jail stuck in a cycle of getting busted and thrown back in.

Say nothing to the cops or prosecutors. Use your right to remain silent. If you go before a judge, Plead "Not Guilty" to everything. At that time you will be given a chance to get a public defender. The Public Defender would know what's what in your area.

it really depends on where you live and who the judge is...i spent 10 days in jail, had to go to drug and alchohol counciling, got fined, and was put on probation, for possesion and paraphanelia (my first offence) but less then a year later got busted with the same charges in another county and only got a fine

i live in ky and the county is supposed to be harsh on this shit.

migu, i didn't get searched actually. i was riding with my boyfriend and he got pulled over because he forgot to turn the lights on and shit. the cops made him do the drunk test thing where he had to stand on one foot and count. he told them everything and the cop comes to ask me where the pot is so i gave it to him.

i probably will just get probation and a fine. some guy i know got arrested for the same thing and he had a shit load more pot on him, it was almost to be a felony or suspected drug dealing and he got 2 years probation.

I would almost gaurantee you won't get any jail time, but be prepared to pay a hefty fine. My momma lives in KY and the fines are steep. Don't plead not guilty if you were, or it's just going to waste your time. YOu were found with a roach and the papers will be considered paraphernalia.

Next time, keep a bag of rolling tobacco with you so you have a reason to fight it.

i know i'll be fined but that's also a problem. how much time will they give me to get the money? i've been trying to get a job for awhile now and i'm trying even harder since I got arrested and still no luck. and still even with a job i'll be very short on cash, cuz i've got another sort of emergency that i'll need money for in the next couple weeks...
so right now it looks like i'll have to ask friends to help me out because my parents aren't going to help me :( they don't give a fuck if i rot in jail.
