How rare are pipe bubblers around you? I see alot of metal and glass pipes, and a FEW glass bongs, and thats it. Haven't heard of anyone using a bubbler pipe.

As a side Q, how does a bubbler pipe work? From the pics i've seen, it looks the smoke does not pass through the water, unless there is a built in stem I don't see. And, is there such thing as a multi chamber bubbler pipe? Multi chamber for water that is, not for smoke...

Ive ordered a bubbler to my house from china, and my parents had to sign for it. I just said it was some stuff I was re-selling on ebay.

I love bubblers. They're not as popular as pipes because well theyre not as portable, and I see them alittle more than bongs. And yeah there is a stem that passes through the water. I can't wait to get my new one, just waiting for my paycheck this week :( .

Bubblers are, in my opinion, mf'n awesome. I recently purchased a blue sherlock and it is everything I've ever wanted in a pipe. It fits nicely in my inner coat pocket and hits great. It spoils me though, cause I don't much care for smoking out of just a normal pipe. I won't even use my sherlock if I can't get some kind of fluid for it. Granted, only the rarest of occasions have prevented me from obtaining a liquid of some kind, but still.

I have seen bubblers that have a female peace identical to that of many bongs so that is what I was talking about sorry I didn't clarify

There are many Bubs with more than one chamber. Doublers, Tripplers, goes up from there. They are obviously much more expensive, though.

True. Most of the headie pieces I've seen, IRL or on the net, are bubblers, not bongs. That kind of surprises me.
I think that as glass has become a bigger deal bubblers have gotten more common. I'm not a long time toker so my only reference for that would be 1-2 convos with my mom and an article in High Times about how the glass industry is a lot younger than the stoner culture in general.
To any older members: How have pipes changed in the last few decades? Was glass really all that rare in the past?

I wouldn't think that bubbler's are hard to come buy I goto the same shop all the time. He's got a large selection. If you live in Los Angeles check out Mike's on Hollywood. That's where I got all my pipes from. They have glass, metal, bubblers, multi chambered and my favorite my single hit cigarette pipe w/ wood case. Sadly I moved last month now I got to find somewhere in San Jose :p
