View Full Version : The power of the words of the great, and why the small can't.
There is a power that issues from the words of great beings, that
the ungreat cannot imitate,
What I mean by that is that words carry power, and the more power a person has, the more it shows in how they speak or write. One can copy the words of others and quote them often but it's not coming from you so it's not the same. Personally I aim at being more clear and more thoughtful and to articulate better than the average person. A lot of times most people cannot articulate great thoughts, and have much to say, while others may be more articulate and not have great things to say. It would be good or better to have both skills, but it does take a lot of time.

Ideas are funny things really, mostly because the great ones only come around every once in a while. Usually, we have to build on other peoples ideas but to be the original thinker of a great (or many great) idea(s) is very rare. However, once the idea has been manifested and spoken (or written), most people say to themselves "Gee, why didn't I think of that". Questioning is really the key to great thoughts, I believe, mainly because questions usually lead to more questions rather than answers.
"Gee, why didn't I think of that". Emerson said something like that in one of his essays.
