Mushroom growing laws in the US?

Hi,
I'm looking for any information on legal issues related to growing mushrooms. I've read that if you live in the states, outside of Florida, Georgia and Cali that you can purchase mushroom spores and cultivation supplies legally. I'd like to know how risky purchasing these items online can be.. what kind of information or "evidence" do the law inforcers need to bust a potential grower?

No thats not true.... i live in florida i know for a fact that as long as there not dryed out or prepared for consumption there legal to have on you, but this law is only for florida.... There not illegal right away when you start growing... Mushrooms go through a couple of growing stages.... the stage when it reaches full mushroom form then they are illegal.... Cops just need evidence that your doing this to bust you with a Schedual 1 substance which sucks because thats as worse as getting cought with herion or coke or LSD.... You have to be careful when growing shrooms...

Actually, it's a little more complicated than that. Without going into detail, basically fresh shrooms are not illegal in Florida. However, cops can and will still bust you for them, but bringing up that fresh shrooms are legal in court will most likely successfully save you from prosecution.
