Closing the old forums to new posts

I think when you guys are all done with fixing up the new stuff and don't have so much on your plate, here's something you ought to do:

I am starting to see a lot of posts about people finding their way back to the old ones and posting there because they don't want to get used to the new ones. Like someone said somewhere, it could start a whole big war if some people post there and others post here... so I think that the old ones should be closed to new posts so that everyone posts only here.

I know that those who hate the new forum are probably gonna hate ME for saying this... but it makes sense to me.

There are ways to access parts of the old forums, however it is in an unstable environment and restores, ect are being preformed in it. Hopefully it will be viewable as an archive soon. Additionaly, as work is being done with those files there will be NO SUPPORT GIVEN at this time for errors such as missing posts, logon problems, lack of menu's ect.

In the even that the new forums were to not function (and it looks like they are working fine) parts of the old may be salvageable to minimize down time.

The new forums are just as confisuing for me as they are for you, but as many have said they are pretty easy to catch on to.

In general I prefer the new forum system. What I do miss about the old forums is their uniqueness in style and presentation. I hope we get a lot of the old style back when the presentation of this one is worked on. I also hope the old backgrounds are restored, to give each forum their distinctive flavour....

I'm having a little trouble adapting, but then I hate change like a cat does! When I found I could access my old forum, I did, and I posted a link, but then Skip told me it wasn't recommended, so I removed the link from my sig. I am lost without my personal forum, but if it's better for the site, I can wait for it to be restored. I do miss it terribly!

Amen Sister! Sometimes users personal forums, can adress things that aren't taken care of in the Public ones. The Kitchen Table was a place where people could just be themselves, and let it all hang out. Nobody would judge anyone.
