I thought by the time you reached your distinguished years, one tried to forget about one's birthdays:p

Wrong Sal, wrong

Once we get to a certain age we want to celebrate even more.

Although I will be sad to leave 42 behind (on 26th September in case anyone would like to know !) as I always find the years when I am a multiple of seven are particularly interesting..................

No Sal I do enjoy my birthdays still! Maybe when I hit 100 or so I may want to forget them but for now I still want to party!!!! I have never really worried about them as saying how old I was as I am only as old as I feel or who I feel as the saying goes. Some days that 100 others 17 all over again. However I do enjoy a good reason to get together with good friends for a party.

[QUOTE=Peace-Phoenix]So what's happened this year that's been particularly interesting?

Well, bought a house, moved the kids schools, took up playing the violin again, joined hip forums, met some hip forumers, got an allotment, two of my closest friends moved away, not sure if you call this lot interesting, but for this old Norfolk girl its certainly eventful.........

Years ago I met some people who were really into the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner( you know the founder of the Steiner schools) and he believed that our lives develop in seven year cycles(under his system you are not considered an adult until you are twenty-one!) Went away and thought about it and yes it does apply to my life, had my first child at 21, went to university at 28, had third child at 35, moved house at 21,28 and 35. Of course could be enormous load of rubbish but I find it a bit interesting........
