ok, this is a repeat straight cut and pasted from the forum archives. But since superbowl sunday is nigh, I thought I would repost it on the current boards.
Crummyrummy's Superbowl Chile :p
Actually this is Crummyrummy's Superbowl Crock Pot Chile.
Ingredients:
2lb. Pot Roast cubed
1lb Chorizo crumbled
1.5 cup chopped onion (1 large onion)
1 chopped green bell pepper
1 package taco seasoning
1 package chili seasoning
2 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. hungarian hot paprika
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. cayenne pepper
11 oz. diced green chiles ( 7 oz. can & 4oz. can)
1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatos and jalapenos
16 oz. can tomato sauce
1 can(small, cant remember the measurement) tomato paste
1/2 cup Mexican Pilsner Lager
1/2 cup Gold Tequilla.
Layer ingredients, meat first in crock pot.( I recommend at least 5 quart capacity)Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Do not stir for first 5 hours. Shread roast after 7 hours.
*Crummy's Note: I like my chile hot, so at the 7 hr mark I tasted and added Dave's Insanity Sauce to taste. Any ultra-hot sauce will do at this time if thats what you desire. Dave's is just what I have onhand.
Mine was very very hot, the kind you dont take home to mother!!!! when it was originally done cooking ,it was fine, but I kept the pot on "warm" throughout the game and party, and it just got hotter and hotter and hotter...
