I'm a mutt too. Mainly German, Irish, & Scottish. I have ancestors from just about every Western European country. And then there's the big "family secret." Apparently we're descended from Thomas Jefferson and a Native American woman. At least, that's what one of my ancestors claimed as his parentage, but there's no proof. And I'm pretty sure its a load of bs. But my mom looks Native American...so who knows.

I always wonder when so many people claim Native American blood. I am not saying anyone is wrong, but the latest census says between POINT 9 %(.9%)and 1.5% of the North American people have Native American heritage. Lots more than 1.5% here.

So far, seven out of 20 serious answers. Someone do the math, I think this is nearly 30%. Maybe more hippies have NA blood than the general population. LOL.

Anyway, I have NO Native American blood to claim (although I might find it cool and impressive, it just isn't true) my heritage is Celtic and Meditteranean. (sp)
