What is the proper way to prepare this tastey drink? I saw one person who had US absenthe, wormwood, and a sugar cube. Now I would like to repeat what he did. It was good.
How much wormwood
how much absenthe
how much sugar cube
Any insight here?

are you talking about adding more wormwood to pre-bottled absinth that you bought? If this is what you are talking about, then in the recipe you would soak the wormwood in the absinth for about a week (if you want you could add a little more high proof liquor, like grain alcohol). Then you can strain the wormwood out and save the liquid. After that, to prepare your drink you combine a tiny amount of water with about one augar cube(melt, and stir into the drink) to a few shots of the absinth. Quite a few people prepare their absinth like this with the sugar and water. Most however don't add the extra wormwood. Enjoy

most US absinth is sold as "absinth substitute" which doesn't contain thujone(active chem in wormwood). The person you are describing may have been adding wormwood to this substitute to create a more authentic absinth with thujone.

oh, and the ratios of the liquor to the sugar and water don't really matter, they are just personal preferecnce. if you want more info erowid.org is a good place
