Okay in the old forums I was totally mystified by the whole buddy status thing.

And now my mind is being played with even more, whats with this reputation thing, do I get an extra dice roll with an even score, or increase my armour plating by three,

You simply click on the scales under a persons post to add or subtract a point of their reputation depending on how you think they've acted in certain threads. I can imagine this system may come under abuse by some unscrupulous people, but I think everyone here in the UK Forum is honourable and trustworthy:p If you don't want to display your reputation, you can disable it by going into your user control panel. Just click the 'User CP' link at the top of the page....

see the little scales under peoples names, if you click there you can give them rep, or take it away i am not sure.. anyway under cuser cp it shows you the rep comments and how many points you have.

I have to say, it sounds like a load of crap to me. Being a hippy should be all about stating unpopular opinions. Let's face it.... who'd want to win a popularity contest in this world? At its most extreme, this system could deter shy or nervous people from posting opinions that they feel might be controversial just in case it damages their 'reputation'. Do we really want these boards to be about 'keeping in with the in crowd'?
