I used to like drinkin' alot betta but when i started smoking more i realized i had way more fun blazin. much more relaxin and a betta time... just curious about what you guys think. What do y'alll like betta, smokin, or drinkin?

Funny, I was thinking about posting a thread exactly like this.

I never got into drinking too much, and could count all the times I've been drunk on my fingers and toes (not all my toes, either). When I finally got around to trying weed, I used alcohol even less. It's so much better than alcohol: you don't forget entire blocks of time, you don't act like a total ass, you don't get sick, there's no hangover. I also never liked the taste of alcohol (except wine, which is good), so that's a difference too.

ive always been more of a smoker. although last year i turned 18 so i was drinking ALL winter getting smashed about 3-4 times a week and i noticed i wasnt smoking as much weed.... then spring and summer were rolling around and the nicer it got out the more outside i was smoking more and more reefer gettin back to my usual self. i do most of my drinking in the winter, and of course when there partys in te summer but mostly winter i find since im trapped inside always from the freeze outside.

I love my pot, ever so much. when i go to parties, i prefer to drink hough. i am more social when im drunk. though, im more prone to giving in and smoking pot while drunk, and i get completly fucked and end up puking. so its usually either one or the other, or, maybe i should just learn to use in moderation, if using both. but in the end, pot all the way, for me.

man, booze isn't that bad... in fact, if you drink just your certain amount ,i'm sure it can make you feel happy. and certain drinks cause certain levels of drunkenness... like, wine (at least for me and most people i know) is viewed as a happy drink, it puts people in a more sociable, talkative mood. not like a sloppy, loud, and angry mood. so it all varies from person to person...I agree, wine is about all I drink because it is almost feeling like being high. A very feel good drink if you don't overdo it (wine hangovers are the absolute WORST...don't fuck with it, you will pay if you do).

And I disagree that bud + alcohol is better. I hate it, it makes me realize how clumbsy and stupid I'm being, because sensation is improved but you still act dumb. Not a good mix in my opinion.

I was the same way, minus the bowl. I was at the bar, couldn't really light up... but I had a few very weak shots (girly shit, but it was free and being put in front of me...), maybe two beers, and a shot of jose quervo. Together about equal to 4 drinks. I spaced it out over 3 or 4 hours, cuz i don't like getting drunk. Weird when you're the one who just turned 21, but are still the best suited to drive.

Drinking just isn't a big deal to me.

it seems to me most of the assholes at my school make big deal about being heavy drinkers (lame quotes and inside jokes about drinking and such in profiles) Smoking is more relaxing, and it doesnt taste like complete shit to get messed up. Cheap red wine is loaded with sulphites, which are wicked, but if you buy a decent dry red, its no problem. For me anyways.
I agree with the scotch and water, or just scotch if its good, sugar and alcohol do not go together well with me.
And coffee drinks, is that so you can be wide awake while your puking?
Gin and tonics look cool under black light like they're radioactive, they glow. Bombay Sapphire Gin, if you never liked Gin, try it, then you'll know what good gin tastes like. Same with tequila, Jose Cuervo Gold reposado, good tequila is so different than the bargain stuff. Its funny how much of a difference a couple of bucks makes. Single Malt Scotch neat, like GlenFiddich, smooth.
I only like sweet stuff when its cold, like ice wine with dessert.......or my favorite, flavored shnapps, like rootbeer or peppermint, in a wineskin when I'm snowboarding or skiing, it sure makes wipeouts more fun. Beer....I like so many kinds, from a light Pilsner like Becks to Guinness Stout, actually those are my two favorites.

Booze has it's ups and downs while weed . . . no downers for me really. A combo is only Okay for me if I do the drinking AFTER the smoking. It's something about drinking first that just makes me think I am a super omega GOD at smoking and I end up taking too many hits too hard. Absolute barf time is due to follow if I do so. I'm pretty bad at throwing up after just smoking though. My main pot buddies are aware of my stomach not liking me and have come to the point where they know when I just have to go outside or into the bathroom by myself. I remember one time at this party when I told some guy I felt like puking and he was yelling at me not too and they all were drunk/high and had this huge arguement over whether puking would make me more stoned or not. the thing i dont like is getting really drunk, which is like 10-12 beers, and smoking constantly all night with it. I like to drink all night and smoke before im out about to pass out, helps with any nausea I have and it makes the hangover the next day bearable heh.

For me, it totally depends on the situation. If I'm attending a social gathering, my preference is alcohol. But if I'm alone or with a close friend at home, then it's pot. It really depends on the occasion, but i have to say I have had much better nights when I have been out drinking at drum and bass raves and stuff. I find i get pretty chilled when I smoke so I don't really like doing it at a buzzing night.

I used to love getting drunk. I first got drunk when I was around 14 or 15, and the feeling was the greatest thing I ever felt! I planned that in the future I would devote my weekends to getting drunk and having fun drunk. I truly possessed a gift when it comes to being drunk......I can act pretty normal when I'm really drunk but less shy. And I rarelly got hangovers. At that time I thought alcohol was the best thing in the world!

Then I got introduced to smoking pot when I was 17.....and wow! Getting high was far better than getting drunk. From that day onwards I slowly started to dislike drinking until the only drink I like was baracardi rum. I started to get more hangovers and even after drinking a few beers I felt sort of burnt out. I don't know whether it was my body telling me "Dude, alcohol is really retarded......smoke weed." Since then I drink rarelly, mainly only at parties. Being drunk feels really good, but there is something about being pot high that drunkedness lacks.

Not much more later I started to really read a lot about drugs and found that.......DAMN! Alcohol isn't much further from other hard drugs like coke or meth! It is one of the few drugs that kill brain cells and it really fucks up your liver and kidneys in the same way meth fucks up your heart until it blows.

I also found out on the other hand that pot is one of the safest substances! It's safer than caffeine and argubly safer than water (especially considering the fact that water has killed more people than weed). And of course the high is far better.....makes me smarter and creative.

Everytime I drink now I sort of feel guilty for my body......much in the same way I felt when I snorted coke.

I think if more people tried weed they would prefer it over alcohol any day. This poll definitely confirms this.

As for the original question, definitely pot... I mean, alcohol gets you fucked up. Period. It's fun to get fucked up every now and then, but alcohol doesn't give me anything positive. Pot stimulates my mind and has even a spiritual quality to it. I like to get high and either listen to my favorite music or sit out in the woods... doesn't really work with alcohol. Plus alcohol has a lot of calories, is quite addictive, kills brain cells, gives hangovers... blah!

I recently finished up a four year enlistment with the military, an establishment hell bent on condemning drug use of any type. a friend of mine spent 30 days in a military brig (jail) for just failing a drug test (marijuana!)--- that was all he did, NO possession, NO driving while INtoxicated, just failed a Urine test. All that happens in an environment like this is through the roof Alcoholism (which we've been programmed to NOT consider a drug @ all for some reason!) I prefer smoking for the obvious reasons, you smoke, you feel the effect and you wake up and go to work the next day without feeling the effects of the night before and its much easier to utilize self control. I would say Honestly (and god is my witness) If alcohol was considered a DRUG in everday society, drug addicts would comprise at very LEAST, 33.3% of the military force... i've been there trust me...
and random urine tests are quite a contradiction to the 4th amendment i might add... what a country we've become (USA)

EVERYONE i know drinks, but not everyone smokes so if i'm at a place with loads of people i tend just to get drunk cos its more inclusive, and i don't want anyone to feel pressured about smoking just cos i'm doing it. i'm not too bothered either way as i can have fun on either pot or booze, but i like to know that everyones having a good time. Beer for me. I have come to the point where even smelling herb being burned in my house makes me feel uncomfortalbe (could be the parole lol). But ever since my first beer, herb has just never come close to being as awesome. I read StayLoose post here and its funny because I've smoked and drank with him, among other things, and I am the complete opposite where drinking makes me feel spiritual (hard as that may be to believe) and more into my music, and smoking makes me feel disconnected and impersonal.

I like to smoke when I'm alone, or with friends. Situations where I'm very comfortable, socially. I prefer to drink and maybe have just a few puffs when I'm going out to meet new people.

I definitely consume more pot than alcohol, and my body likes it that way. Alcohol in excess usually makes my insides hurt the next day.

I find though, that after a bad trip, and by that I mean the two or three weeks that follow, I'm going to prefer drinking to smoking. Being high causes me to tap into the psyche-muck that's been dragged up by the recent experience and can manifest some frightening situations for me. But it's probably for the best, to get it all to the surface and throw it out.

Overall, I think of marijuana as being good for me, like a medicine, while drinking is a vice. I'm always up for smoking alone but I need other people around to drink. When I'm drunk, I only want to talk to people but when I'm high my own company is more than sufficient sometimes.
