This is the Late '60s Album Awards. Therefore, 1965 cannot be included. 1965 would be mid '60s.

1967 was pretty hard to do, obviously... possibly the best year for music ever.

"The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" gets my vote for best album ever produced.

Yeah, you just kind of have to work with the recording and release years to make your list work. :p

Plus, wasn't White Light / White Heat recorded in 1967 and released in January 1968? So it could go in either year, too, I suppose.

Bahhhhhhhhh!!!! No one mentioned Moby Grape's debut album! Not even me... :eek:It's not THAT great, though. Plus, 1967 is a great year... it's hard to choose. I'd probably put it in my top 10 or 15 for 1967, though.

I think I might be getting that album on CD for X-Mas, though. :) I hope...

I would hardly call the Yardbirds, the 13th Floor Elevators, Love, the Zombies, Syd Barrett, the MC5, Captain Beefheart, the Sonics, and Donovan "mainstream."I've heard it all before... especially the psychedelia... I have nothing against Donovan. :D Though I've heard Mellow Yellow enough that I could probably sing the song backwards. :p

People just need to diversify their genres... there was some great jazz, blues, and folk in the 60s too... I put Hendrix on my list, because that's a given... :p

Dylan is probably the most mainstream, I could say, on the entire thing. I had to cut out the beatles... mostly because we've heard them all, and I threw in the stones for a hint of mainstreamyness, but with a dash of more modernized rock-blues...

If there is any song that has been played way too much, it's sunshine of your love, by Cream... we all know that song.

Well, the idea was to simply name your favorite albums from the given years, regardless of their overplay and whatnot. After all, it's just for fun... well, and I wanted to see what other people like.

the byrds, bob dylan, the rolling stones, simon & garfunkel, jimi hendrix, the lovin' spoonful... and you're saying our music is too mainstream?!No... I mean mainstream to my tastes. Your genres are too mainstream, not the artists. The answer is within the question... just look for it. It's all personal preference. Besides... most people have no clue who Leo Kottke is, yet he did the same thing for the 12 string that Jimi did for the Fender Strat. :p
