It says down at the bottom of the Forums Index Page, that you're 57!
Now, that's a damned good age to be. I don't know if you've found this out to be true, but I've found that every year I've passed since I turned 55 has been the best of my life. And that's health and teeth and all the rest of the shit thrown in for good measure.
What Ever. Hey, Old Man... You have a real good B'day.
It's nice talkin' with one of my kind... reminds me of this song....
Way back when
In sixty-seven
I was the dandy
Of gamma chi
Sweet things from boston
So young and willing
Moved down to scarsdale
Where the hell am I?
Hey nineteen
No we can’t dance together
No we can’t talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down
Hey nineteen
That’s ’retha franklin
She don’t remember
The queen of soul
It’s hard times befallen
The sole survivors
She thinks I’m crazy
But I’m just growing old
Hey nineteen
No we got nothing in common
No we can’t talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down
The cuervo gold
The fine columbian
Make tonight a wonderful thing
No we can’t dance together
No we can’t talk at all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAN !!!
Love,
Sam

I am so very greatful for the love and friendship I have found here. Ya'll may never know what a large positive effect you've had on my life and my quality of life. You may never know, but I promise to try to show how much ya'll mean to me. Ya'll (I'm in Alabama, I can use "Ya'll") have earned my respect and admiration and esteem, my love and un-ending friendship. You've (Ya'll've) made me feel welome, at easy and at home. And now you've also, once again brought tears to my eyes... tears of joyful happiness. Over the past few weeks my life has been on a down part of life's cycles and being able to come here and "visit" with you, my friends, has been my oasis.
I must now try to post this. Among the other problems of the past little while have been a computer/modem/phone line problem. We've not been able to stay on line, sometimes for even one minute. Sometimes, we have now discovered, we've still been on line but didn't know it nor access anything. I started working on/with computers in 1975 (still vacuum tubes) and both my sons are now computer pros too, so unless we get into a "too many cooks spoiling the stew" situation, we should have it fixed soon. Of course, I thought that five days ago too.
Teepi, did you get the PM I tried to send?
~Sam~, the hat is cool, hope you wear it out & about. Should scare hell out of folks.
Peace and love to all,
Your friend,
poor_old_dad or POD (aka Glenn)
