View Full Version : I woke up this morning . . .

I woke up this morning and lay for a minute with my eyes closed, thinking about what steps I was about to take as I arose; what I needed to talk my parents about, how long I would need to get ready, and so forth. I then expected to open my eyes, see my closet and table across the room, and sit up in my bed.
But I opened my eyes, and was rather shocked to notice that I wasn't in my house. There was a bookcase staring at me from across a small room, and I was in a pull-out bed under an unfamiliar blanket.
It took me a moment to realize that, ah yes, I was staying at a friends house, and had just forgotten where I was.
Nevertheless, it was a really unsettling moment. And something I've always kind of enjoyed experiencing...as long as you figure it out quickly.

Heh, that reminds me of something...
When my mother was a child, her father used to play "tricks" on his kids at night. He would take one in the middle of the night while he/she was asleep and set him/her in a field outside the house. So, when the kid woke up in the morning, he/she was outside in the middle of some field... now that would be freaky.
