Are their a lot of comedy clubs or places to do comedy in California? And where? I want to go their and do open mics. Anyone?

Oh, and I ran out of money so I have to sleep in my car. What's the safest place where I can live in my car in Cali and go to places to do comedy?

Would appreciate it, thank you.

well I need a place to stay for a little while so I can get a job. that way after a few weeks I will have enough money to get my own place and take care of myself.

MamaTheLama
11-14-2005, 03:44 PM
Ah.
I would seriously suggest getting a job and saving where you are (if you aren't already). That way you'll have enough money for deposits and such, as well as a recent job reference.

Hey, I live in Humboldt county! Well, Eureka, but only for another month. My hubby and I are on a travelling assignment and then we move into our house in Maui in Dec./Jan. Before coming here we were travelling in the Bay area. If I wasn't moving to Hawaii, I would definitely consider buying a house in Northern Cal. I love it here, especially Arcata! I went to Redding once but only because our flight got cancelled out of Arcata and we had to drive to Redding at 3 A.M. It was a pretty drive aside from being sort of treacherous! Do any of you who live in Humboldt know of any good shows coming soon? We saw Dark Star Orchestra at the Arcata community center not too long ago.

i'm another rosevillan. (sac metro area) 95678. also both a furry and a train nut (which some might consider a bit of an odd combination already, maybe more then hip, but the latter is in the eye of the beholder these days anyway. maybe it always was; and not gay either, though i'm perfectly cool with anyone else who is,). into mellow, not loud.
lived in placer county somewhere arround 40 of my 58 years.

58 -10 in oregon, 4 in nevada and the odd year here and there elsewhere like seattle and utah. oh yah, and the first 3 years of my life before my parents moved out here from buffalo new york (and ended up in truckee california where i started kindergarten, if you don't know buffalo AND truckee you probably don't get the irony of leaving buffalo and ending up in truckee. a hint, 20ft snow drifts)

semi-empoverished but at least i've got this internet connection, even if it only is dial up, and i'm not having to live on the streets.

I live in Nevada City California, It's beautiful here.
Maybe we could engage in an art project, board game, or maybe a game of twister? You don’t need a car. We could Take a walk in a romantic setting. The beach, mountains or park. Pack a lunch.
Don’t try too hard to win at the game. We can play for fun. Don’t compete with me. Men are suppose to complement a women, the way cheese complements wine.
I’ll be honest and open but not rude. Honesty should be kind not brutal.
You can always stand on the 5th amendment, “I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may intend to insult you” and still be honest.
It’s okay to ask, “Can I hold your hand ?”
Will you be my friend?

I'm hitchiking from Dallas to NorCal by way of Des Moines and Denver in about two weeks. I'd like to see if I can find work in the wine country. any of you cats want to kick it and show me around the area, that would be rad. I'll be hitching the 1 from san fran on up and if nothing piques my interest I'm going to keep going up to Eugene or Portland.

I've never been north of LA. is there anything I should know about your area?

MikeE
11-10-2006, 12:57 AM
Wrong season for work in the wine country. The crush is over, so there are a lot of workers who are out of work.

Going north on 5, once you pass I-80, you will encounter more red necks.
Going north on 101, you will pass through the Mendocino triangle.

Not a tough choice.

Hi, I'm Carol Ann... I live in Nevada City California. Where are you?

yeah! an almost neighbor! i'm one of those rosevillans, but i do listen to kvmr!

=^^=
.../\...

oh jeeze, i should have known i already replied to this thread before carol did. ha! and i'm not looking for anyone. i've already got one wife and that is one more then enough. art projects interest me. a lot of things interest me. the kind of world we all have to live in interests me more then personal relationships though.

ah, and i also know where ukrane is. and am saddened to see all those damd cars messing it up. not that it probably wasn't in some ways already. but every place has it's own kind of coolness too.

i'm not sure how you'd transport an entire country to some other part of the world then where it is, or what it would do to the planet itself if there were any way that you could, or why anyone would want to.

isn't there a forum for eastern europe on here somewhere too?

i know there's a bunch of things in japan and some in particular in switzerland that i'd both like to see a LOT more of in california. (namely torii gates, shinto shrines, strolling, meditation, and tea gardens, and a LOT more people sized railways)

When I Waass Out There Before, My Mother Passed Away, It Was Not A Fun Visit, Next Time It Will Be. Late Spring, After Earth Day Would Be Nice. Well, Anyone Out There, Take Care, I Hear It's Storming, And I Feel For Yas. Love Linda.

hmmmm Humboldt, gonna give that region another go, met a hippie on the square in arcata, on the side with the bars, he was on his way to get some doses so I tagged along, found the doser and traded chunks of hash for em, potent fluffy stuff, after that I spaced and we parted ways. ran into the doser few weeks later on a grayhound bus running down 101 to hear that this hippie I met had fried off his ass jumped off o those overpasses, and got smeared by a big rig runnin northwards, long ago that was.

growing up in colfax, i always wanted to move to grass valley, nevada city, north san juan, all up in through that area; nevada county. never have had the good fortune to though. and now i'm stuck down here in damd hot roseville. you have no idea how i wish i was living up there in nevada county somewhere, or sierra county or alpine county.

you know what's missing though? from the 1840s to arround 1941, there used to be a little narrow gauge railroad between colfax and nevada city, called the nevada county narrow gauge railway. they scraped it for metal for wwII, but the right of way was still intact when i was growing up in colfax. i used to walk it all the time. i even walked all the way once. sure was glad i got a ride back though. 22 miles one way. longest i ever walked at one time.

all the traffic on highway 49 up from auburn, they really need something like that now. except of course it'll have to wait till people stop worshipping the automobile. but that day will come.

they do have a bunch of little busses up this way, and that's good. placer and nevada county both have bus systems. as do the towns of roseville and auburn. that's the one good thing in roseville we do have. other then you can also take amtrak and the capitols down to san jose and various connections along the way down that area.
