If you've never had sex with a guy, then how do you know you're a lesbian?
Haha I love that one:PWell first of all, friend, the thought of sex with a man repulses me to the point of feeling ill. Second, did you know that you can love someone without having sex with other people first? lol silly priceless comments....

The logical conclusion of the argument is that there's no reason to have sex with anyone, since until you've had sex with someone, you can't be attracted to them. Or something.

I lurk on another board and some recently asked if it was wrong for gay parents to adopt children since they thought it was wrong for a child to be "raised gay"
whetever the heck that means

If someone spends their formative years around homosexuals they will give them the gay. It's bollocks, but that's what it means.

No, I think you the conclusion is that you should have sex with everyone. Unless you have had sex with everyone you meet you will never know if you are turned on by them. Or at least all the genders.

It's one or the other.
The most annoying one I find is "As long as it's behind closed doors". You feel bad bitching against it, because at least they're not trying to smash your guts off, but it's just another level of double standards. No-one has ever suggested that hetero couples should only kiss or hold hands in their own home. I resent the implication that something which is completely acceptable and grossly overdone by heterosexuals in public should somehow not be acceptable amongst gays unless it's done in a soundproof concrete bunker at least 20 miles from any other human.

That's not logic... that's reason.
Sorry, I hate the confusing of the two; reason (cause and effect) leads to misunderstanding more often than not because there are a multitude of factors in something.

I hope that someday a black Jewish lesbian is President, not of the US, but of the whole world. Seriously.
Man, I'd love to see that. Not for it to be just given to her, though, but for her to be elected.
Then I would begin to feel that we are getting somewhere as loving beings.
Of course there are a million combinations of discriminated against groups that would be equally wonderful to see. Like a Native American gay man as the pres. would suit me just fine.

Couldn't agree any more. It's so fucking ridiculous; I'm not allowed to be barefoot in school and am constantly ridiculed because I choose to go barefoot anyway (just have to avoid detection by the staff). You know there's something wrong with society's moral views when you are made fun of for choosing to be somewhat natural. People need to learn that their opinions aren't always shared...

When I was in school I usedta leave my shoes in the art department and wander round bare foot. I also had multicoloured hair. It was quite interesting really because a load of the teachers thought I was cool and said I reminded them of themselves when they were younger, or reminded them of the era they grew up in. Only got trouble for my hair off the higher staff and hassle about barefeet from one teacher who didnt want me to 'get infections' hehe. I did have a strop once with my dep. head teacher who on home clothes day commented on my clothing. Now, he was a really cool geezer and I knew him outside of school, but he had a problem with the fact my stomach was showing in school coz I had a cropped top...well my mouth got the better of me and I told him Id go in naked if he preferred but these were the clothes I owned hehe. But yeah, I guess I didnt get too much hassle in school, (think the teachers gave up on me in the end;)) but yeah society sucks. hm...yeah, off topic, you just reminded me of my school days with bare feet :)

I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but in this world of frivolous lawsuits, the school has to enforce that particular rule. What if you stepped on a piece of broken glass in the hallway? or what if someone was to step on your foot, breaking a toe? Your parents can sue the school district and might even win. I'm not saying you should be forced to wear shoes, but that the school does have a legit reason for that particular dress code.

Like I would allow my parents to do that because of a choice I made... When I choose to go barefoot, I choose whether or not to pay attention to where my feet wander; if I step on glass, well, damn, I'm blind... As for other people stepping on my feet, sandels aren't much better, yet they are perfectly legit inside educational facilities...

Back to the original post, I've gotten that so many times and I just say,
Well, how do you know you're not gay? Maybe all you need is a good gay lover.
That shuts 'em up real good. ;)

And then they're always like, I just know, and so I'm like, well, there you go, same here! Then they either don't say anything or they start with the "Yeah, but..."

the problem with people is they think the lesbian automatically means man-hating. i usually try to sneak in there "don't worry, i LOVE men. i just don't like to see them naked."

I know exactly what you're saying, although, being bisexual and all, its not really the same thing. I would much rather see a woman naked than a man. Theres something that just freaks me out about a penis, I don't like touchin' the damn things. YUK!
