I miss this thread from the old forums, we were just getting it going last spring whenthe forums crashed and I have been meaning to get it up again for the longest time...

This is where you post the things, people and/or ideas that you Love.

The day before yesterday I ventured down to West Ocean City with my sister and it was almost dusk, when suprise~suprise this big fat full moon just popped up over the buildings. It had a moonbow around it and the sky was all pinkish and purple and glowing...I love how heavy the thing looks and much bigger when it is near the horizon and the awe that it fills me with even after 33...or 32 (damn, I forgot how old I was again, doh!) after alot of years of repeatedly seeing it.

.....All along the, all along the mountains of the moon........

Going to a place, usually one with large view, and all the geology classes that I took so long ago surface again. And the whole history of the place come into view, hundreds of millions of years, ocean, to huge mountains like the Himalayas, to old mountains, worn to there roots like the Blue Ridge, then lifted again and the old rivers that were once tiny streams slowly cutting through stone faster than the land can rise.....
Or the north east, where Ice stood a mile thick and slowly scraped away the surface as it flowed to the sea, piling all it all at it's edge and then slowly melting away. Now it's Long Island infested by suburbia.... or the rock in my pocket has 100 million years of history to it :)
I love it when you can see through time....

I love...............my soul-mate

and the moon, and the stars, Venus and Mars, the salt of the sea, the breeze in the trees, my kids and my wife, the meaning of life, going fast, standing still, knowing that I've used my skill, and strength and time to help some soul, who needs a mate to make them whole..............

i love learning things...like for example...that sunset, moon that you saw kim, was actually 8 minutes ago....we see the sun's shows 8 minutes later cause of the length of time it takes to get to the earth.

That is kinda weird to think, Marie that everything that we percieve is on atleast a litle bit of a time delay. Everything that goes on around us is already in the past by the time we realise it...woah, the only place that exists in the present is internal.

Doh! *tries not to hurt myself*

I love the origins of human meme's. Like I've heard the custom of decorating Christmas trees goes back to the story of the Paradise tree that was in the Medieval times play about the story of Adam and Eve. The church caught wind of some ungodly like behavior associated with the tree and the play and they made it so the tree could'nt be used any more in the play. The people were so fond of the story though and it was usually told durring the time of yule so they started putting their own apple decorated trees in their homes on dec. 24th in protest.

I think I am going to decorate our tree with apples this year, because I can.

Well that's the $64 question... and you could walk away or gamble it all on tonights star prize....

A private island with sandy coves and clear blue waters in a temperate zone well away from all major hurricane area's. The island comes with a selection of houses and dwellings in which you and your chosen companions can live communally. A small geo-thermal spring provides a natural heated water swimming pool in an underground cave, while electricity comes from waves turbines built into the rocks. A single deep anchorage provides safe haven for a number of ocean going catarmarrans, (included). The island comes with a variety of flora and fauna, although the centre of the island is dominated by a big green field. Measuring approximately 10 miles by 2 miles, and rising to a peak some 700 feet above sea-level, there is room for both seclusion and togetherness, whether atop the peak or swimming in the crystal clear lagoon.

Now I'd love that! You'd better know the answer Marie, are you ready!
