My brother went to art school, we should get him to work something up....it needs a sail boat outline or something.
I like the font though:)
You know what's funny? Ever since I was a kid I've wanted a green and blue wooden sailboat named MoonShadow, like the Cat Stephens song.

Then we shall build it! :)
Good idea with your bro..
I'll work on it a bit more too, the original is not as dark and has more texture in it. It lost detail converting it to a jpeg and downsizing it.
This is the design I'm trying to intrest the Dr in. it carries 6 and can be set up for sail.

It is amazing what a difference where the boat sits in the water makes. The first picture struck me as kinda garrish, but when it is set down in the water like when the guy is rowing the angles look much better...does Dr. J want sails with his?
i was looking up prices for the sewing machines that are made for sail making...and they are not that bad... heehee :X I want one...one that is blueish!

Yeah, This isn't the prettiest design (and esthetics do count), but it fits what he wants as far as capacity and rough water capability, it has lots of freeboard and reserve boyantcey. He does want it set up to sail, this one has a balanced lug rig and a daggerboard.

But, If I was going to pick a small tender, or one to build on spec, I'd build this one, the Nutshell Pram It's considered the best and it's beautiful, for a pram anyway....
It is designed by Joel White, son of E.B. White (Charlot's Web) He's done many famos and beautiful designs

Hate to be a kill-joy - but what are you going to use it for. (Sorry, got my sensible bean-counter head on. I've helped a number of friends set up their own business and it's like when we all teenagers forming bands - 90% of the effort goes into coming up with a really cool name and designing the poster as far as these budding millionaires are concerned)
Homepage for a web-site and front-cover for a brochure\portfolio - big yes.
Can't see it as a flyer - remember thats a cold sell technique - small words, big print, references to sex or money off. Would you use it as company letter paper or for invoicing? - to me the style wouldn't lend itself to that kind of thing. I don't know what its like in the states, but most of the classy boat-builders over here seem to use stylised boat blueprints as their logo - rather like your top logo. I guess that's more in keeping with the aspirations of potential buyers. You don't have to sell them the general idea of messing around in boats - they are already hooked on that. What you want is them messing around in your boats, because they are a connoisseurs boat, built by a master craftsman, sold only to those in the know, the discerning few - ie good old fashioned snob appeal. Ah the capitalist system - how it corrupts us all and shrinks our souls.

Sort of working on bits and pieces right now. I made the back ground a while ago and had been saving it for something.... this may be it :)
So you know about setting up a business.. hmmmm Kim and I can make anything except money, without any problem....... we may have to have a chat :)
