Friends:

Can one trust Transience ?

Buddha once said:
Ananda, any form, in which one delights, will cause sadness, when it unavoidably changes!!

Realistically everything -internal as external- is just changing forms, passing appearances, transient processes, evanescent phenomena, temporary images, fleeting manifestations, ephemeral representations all empty & void of substance, self, identity, satisfaction & safety... A miserable mass of pain & danger!

Nibbana is the sweet & certain alternative !!!

Every moment we change, the old me of 5 seconds ago is no more and a new me is born. Therefore let us live every moment in the same joy with which we celebrate a birthday.

The point is not that change is bad,

But that clinging to past forms neglects the true nature of reality,
And so, brings sorrow through mis-understanding.

Re: World = Only changing representations ... !! Anicca = universal impermanence

Htoo Naing requested:
> Could you please elaborate more on above description?

Internally, the mental states are momentary & of a duration of milliseconds! They are all therefore very fleeting & unstable. What is unstable is painful... It cannot ever be kept, owned, saved, controlled, reserved nor maintained!!!

Externally we normally assume a 'real world'. However as everything we know of this so-called 'real world' is a sensed experience converted into a mental image or imprint, this 'external real world' is actually also just an 'internal' momentary & passing mental state... The world is not the world '- out there -' but rather a mentally created IMAGE or Representation of the world 'in here' which endures only a split second...!!! Not as 'real' as assumed, actually... Thus what we are obsessed with is therefore also an invisible, untouchable, insensible, immaterial, unstable & passing Mental State, which is forever lost immediately the moment after it is arised... That is indeed quite painful...

Therefore our Teacher said: Nothing is worth clinging to... Since all constructions will vanish, train thoroughly... Meditate Now!, so that you will not regret it later...

Relinquishing is Releasing.
Letting Go is Freedom.
Equanimity is Calm.

Sooooo beautiful,

As neem karoli baba would say, when ram dass handed him a picture of this lama and a picture of him, he said, Buddha, Buddha.

Sub ek!

We're all Buddhas dancing in the eternal moment of BEING free!

We just got to remember.
