Hey guys, I'm new to these forums, but have been reading 'em for a while. I have a problem, and I am hoping you guys could help me out. I have always liked girls, and I think they are hot (mostly, lol). But... one night I had a dream about having gay sex. I often fantasize about gay sex, and wonder about it. As I said, I have always thought girls were hot, but gay sex is slowly becoming more appealing to me. No offense to gays, I have nothing against them. I just really, really don't want to be gay. I think the dream might have had something to do with these new feelings. Can somebody please help me??? I am 12, and probably too young to be thinking about this at all, but I don't want this to have a bad effect on me when I'm older.

It is completely normal to have all kinds of sexual fantasies and dreams, especially at the age you are. I really wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Besides, I didn't want to be gay, or ride the "boo-foo-choo-choo" , but I am, and its ok...

If it makes you feel any better, in 3 different surveys I have read, between 40 and 70 percent of otherwise straight males admit to having some type of homosexual experience at least one time in their life. The figure is probably much higher, since many men would never admit to such a thing.

Like has been said at 12 you are going to have many feelings some of which are just your mind working out who you are. Experimenting & tossing out the stuff that doesn't work for you. I really wouldn't worry about the dreams. You are going to have a much better idea of this in a couple of years. Even if it turns out you are gay, it isn't all that bad. I know that feeling like you are gay is a scarry thing but aside from what the anti-gay people want everyone to believe it isn't the end of the world to actually be gay. It is possible that you are bi but that isn't so bad either. I am getting ahead of the game here though. What it really comes down to in my opinion is to accept yourself for who you are.

I consider myself straight but I went through a similar experience except I wasn't too worried about turning gay. I just didn't understand what it meant. Anyways it passed after a while.

I happen to have a wonderful Wife, two grown Sons, an equally wonderful nearly 6 year old Daughter, 2 Granddaughters with another Grandchild on the way, & although I am between boyfriends right now, have had a wonderful boyfriend or two. Don't worry, I don't expect you to understand, love in my family is obviously different than yours.

What the hell does your love for him or any kind of understanding for him have anything to do with his sexuality? Just because you have problems with thinking of his relationships in the bedroom shouldn't effect your love for him or her as long (& I really hope we are) talking hypothetically. If you use the test of your being repulsed by the thought of your offspring's sexual affairs that would also make most people not "understand" their parents, as so many have some sort of repulsion to that concept. Of course I wonder where they think they came from then. Immaculate Conception on a mass level is just too much for anyone to believe, it is even questioned for the one that it was written about. Now that I think about it why the hell are you even thinking about your offspring's sexual practices? That repulses me! Every year when I have attended the Day of Silence rally another student tells of the near elimination of this as a derogatory term in any sense including that in their school. Students, joining together, can make a difference. If you are tired of this in your school, you can bring forth the changes necessary to make school a place to learn not to fear derision.

Dude, I think about stuff like that all the time. Sometimes I dream it and sometimes i dont but I'm really turned on by the thought of having sex with another chick most of the time I think it! Its quite scary too, cause I have a boyfriend and our sex life isnt great and I always get scared I'm gay. Dammit I did have words of advice but just realised im in nearly the same situation as you lol.. Well, for one, when I was 12 I always used to picture 'what if' situations in my head, and they got pretty sick, things I would NEVER do sexually, with people I would never do them with. Even nowadays, 5 years on, I wonder what would happen if, say, my boss came onto me or something. Thinking up random stuff is natural, if you want it to become a reality then that's fine too, just make sure you don't hurt anyone in the process (or yourself).

Anyway, unless you're 100% sure of your sexuality, which some gays and straights are (someone I know knew she was definitely bi since she was like 3), then don't try to work out what you like till you start to get out of your teens, its the best advice I've been given. If you try to label yourself as anything, all you're doing is mentally restricting your choices, and may regret it later. But also remember experimenting with ideas is natural too, and you're a long way from gay yet ;)

Don't worry about it; it's more likely that puberty is giving you lots of feelings that you haven't felt before. My best friend, for example, was always curious about his sexuality around that age; he'd constantly act sexually interested in me, and we did have an experience (experimentation with oral sex), but afterwards, he payed less and less attention to guys and focused more on girls. Personally, I'm bi, and I recognize him as a full heterosexual.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't worry about your sexual orientation now, you're too young to be able to pinpoint it as hormones tend to mess with your emotions. Worry about it later; even though you shouldn't worry about it at all as it's stupid to worry about not fitting into society's view of what is correct.
