Moonjava....you are a very kind soul, I am sure your dear old dad is very proud of you. And as for being old, I certainly don't mind a bit. The alternative sucks. Peace always, ruby

Yea, like homebudz said, "but I'm old and I'm diggin it too" and ruby(mother_of_the_bride)montana said, "as for being old, I certainly don't mind a bit. The alternative sucks". The way I usually say it is, "When you consider when I was born, I'd have to be this old or gone already."
Also as the years pass, "old" seems to be getting younger. What I mean is, for instance, I can remember when my father turned 40(in 1961). I thought, "damn that's old". And for him, it was. For me it was nothing. Same for 50, then 55, etc. A lot of folks dread getting old(er), - don't. But remember, one day others will walk the paths you blaze.
This also reminds me of one of the things I like most about these forums. To paraphrase Dr. Martin Luther King, "What counts is the content of your character, not how many candles are on your cake."
"But thank you for thinking of us, thats always nice."
Peace,

Thank YOU for realizing that you have others to help you on your way.
Thats what it really is all about.
So many go through life not seeing the blessings that are sent to them.
They turn a blind eye to the past and think it holds nothing for them, only what they can gain from the future.
I have been where you are, you are not yet where I am age wise. so I will help you where and when I can.
That is not to say that I cannot learn from you.
When I come here I try to connect with the younger people here, I have learned that it keeps me young, it refreshes memories for me that I thought I had lost touch with.
It helps me to understand the generation coming up around me.
For that..I thank you.
Live in love,
teepi

As much as I generally like everyone on this site equally, I can't really say that's true when its compared to you folk.. I love listening to your wise words and hearing what you all have to say. It's a pure satisfaction I seem to get nowhere else. So thanks again.

All we need is Love!...and new knees....and maybe a new lower back LOL. Don't ask me how I made it this far but if it weren't for a few good friends along the way it wouldn't have been near as much fun.
