The Shared Planet conference 2004 is approaching fast. For those who don't know about it, it is for students aged 16-24 and it a full day of speakers and workshops dealing with some of the most important issues in the world at the moment...Fairtrade, climate change, HIV/AIDS, trade justice etc etc. The topics of the workshops vary immensely, and a list of the speakers can be found on the link I will put at the bottom (looks like a very good line up to me).
It is extremely reasonably priced...just £8 in advance (£10 on the day), and that includes a place to crash on the Friday and Saturday night if needed. It's only very basic accomodation, and you will need a sleeping bag/mat, but you can't be fussy for £8! It's being held in central London this year.
All the information you need can be found on this site...

I think this event looks awesome and I've heard so many good things about past conferences, you should all try and get down there. There's going to be a massive party after the conference, so it should be a laugh. Hope to see some of you down there!

I think its shit that its got an age limit on it actually!!! I have got several friends who are students and they are all over the age of 24. Its agist - perhaps they should put that on their agenda - now I am over 30 I am sick of agist crap in this country. What? when you reach 25 you are obviously too old to be a student? is that it????
Sorry thats pissed me off no end! Its not the first thing that I have seen that is aimed at young adults at the exclusion of people slightly older with lots to contribute also. What about people being given a voice ffs? I'd love to go Rosie 'cos it does sound fantastic but unfortunatley I am 7 years too old to attend ?!?!?!?!
I agree, it's ageist... any prejudice is wrong in my book.
