To lose one's head

She has spirit -
How did she find it?
A man lost his sense through her.
His head was ruled by anxiety:
To the devil went his head -
No! No! - To a woman.

To friendship

Hail to you, friendship,
My esteemed hope, this
First morning shimmer!
Ah, Withoutend, you
Shone often on my night path,
All life, relentless and hated!
I will live twice,
Now i look into your eyes
Morning glow and victory
You, beloved goddess

Desperate

Awful to my sense are
Companions who split!
I already run, where do i run?
Do i jump into waves?
Their mouths always split,
Their throats are gurgling,
Wall and floor always splashed -
A cursed upon spittle souls!
I prefer to live bad and simple
Free as a bird upon rooftops,
I prefer to live amongst thieves,
And oath and marriage breakers!
Curse to culture, when she spews!
Curse to the land of virtue!
Not even the purest holiness
Wears gold in her mouth.

The hermit speaks

You have thoughts you want me to master
Good! But to make thoughts - I willingly forget!
Who made his own thoughts - who has her,
I will serve now and never.
All eternal brooks flow eternally
And God himself - did he once begin?
God himself - does he always begin?

The wanderer (an extract)

No path anymore! Only abyss and deathly silence
You wanted this! From path your will strayed!
Now, Wanderer, it was worth it!
Now, look cold and clear!
You are lost, you believe - in danger.

Well, I've read 'em twice and I'm still wondering. Am I missing something?
