What I know from 'the church of satan' is that it's not really a believe in the Christian Satan as it is a very hedonistic way of living.. from what I know of it, it makes me think of Nietzsches philosophy on the über and unter Mensch.. like.. Christian value the more 'weak' vices very highly (like love your enemy etc.) whereas they frown upon 'strong' vices like defending yourself at all costs etc. So 'Satanist' do not worship Satan, they merely reverse the Christian believes of what a 'good person' is. They are, however, not out to hurt others.. unless it is necessary to survive themselfs. Something like that.

the 'Christian Satan'.... *smirk* Christians/Jews are really the only ones who believe in Satan.... most other religions recognize negative energies without personification of them...

Yup.. very true.. hm.. although.. maybe the demon-like creatures from other religions could be seen as sort of satanic? Like luring you into trouble? But you're right, 'christian satan' is kinda like double..

Satan is mentioned in the bible. Everything unchristian can be seen as satanic to some christians.

Does anyone have additional information, on the history of Wicca, that would help me find this link to be not so vexing? I found the link well versed and a bit unsettling...

"Wiccans are correct to say that their Horned God is not Satan. But it isn't historically true that the Christian image of Satan is a re-interpretation of the Wiccan God. "
I think this is a very telling quote. In the attempt to convert the pagans, the god Pan became the devil, to give him offerings was to worship Satan according to the new church. This made the worshippers of Pan "devil worshippers" to the unknowing. The Christian Satan is the embodiment of Evil. Pan is the Lord of the Light and also the lord of the Underworld. Now I'm not Wiccan and I was raised Catholic, but I have read up a bit. I consider myself of my own belief. To say that to worship Pan is the same as worshipping Satan is buying into that facad of the Christian thought. Pan is the scape goat, he dies with the harvest and is resurrected again through the womb of the great mother.
I see that modern Satanism today may have annymosity towards Christians (the gods/esses have been removed from their life) they may be confused, having been raised Christian (or of the bible) They get into the dangerous mix of Evil and religion.
Its funny that the link you posted is a Satanist sight, I'm sure they have their reasons, and they also put at the top of the page this;
Note: The following article should NOT be taken as implying that Wicca is a form of Satanism. Although this article focusses on similarities and historical connections between Wicca and 19th century literary Satanism, there are plenty of differences too, and even more differences between Wicca and modern (post-LaVey) Satanism. Wicca is an eclectic modern religion which has drawn inspiration from many sources, both ancient and modern. Literary Satanism is just one of those many sources.

Go to the library first! Don't buy stuff if you don't need to.

Most certainly, and inter-library loan is a blessing. Ask about it, if you don't see what your are looking for.

Thank you for your insights. I found another link that provided additional light:

Judging from his name hes just getting started and maybe looking into some satanic magick as well, leave it there. "dude" Get off your controll trip. Maybe you should ask Skip to make a Satanic forum so all you "evil" Satanic "dudes" can talk about whatever it is you do. This is a Pagan forum, not a Satanic christian forum. I've read the Satanic Bible, If you want to look into that path fine, its not Pagan or wiccan.
