Ever since I had to break down and get one for my Kava extractions, I have become a firm believer in the muslin bag. Not only does it help in making some killer kava drinks it should produce the same results with all other plant alchemy extraction.
For example. Those of us who drink ayahuasca. After simmering the coffee grinded herbs in a 1:2 lemon juice/water for 20min 3x using fresh lemon water each time. The gathered solution would then be liberated from sediment by filtering through the muslin bag. The sediments in ayahuasca are what have made me purge prematurely almost everytime.
What about amanita. Boiling distilled water which has been acidified with fresh squeezed lime juice is poured onto a dose of amanitas which have been finely powdered in the coffee grinder. The solution is allowed to cool for 30 min and shaken vigorously throughout. After 30min the solution is then filtered through the muslin bag to seperate the sediment from the solution.
Morning glories would work the same except that the coffee grinded seed powder is mixed 1:2 with cold distilled water which has been acidified with freshly squeezed lime juice. The solution is shaken every few minutes for 30 min then filtered through the muslin bag.
Making tinctures would be the same principal. Soak plant medincine powder in vodka for 2-4 weeks shaking vogorously at least once a day. Then filter through the muslin bag. If making extract powder use everclear or rubbing alcohol and then evaporate. The remaining residue is dried, scraped and powdered to make potent medicinal extracts.
