Alright boys and girls, I finally did it: I shot myself with 4mg Dilaudid last night.

I am in the hospital so I have a catheter in, which means I didn't have to use any needles. All I had to do was use one of the many 5 or 10cc Saline Flush syringes left in my room by my nurse. Also, alcohol swabs and cotton gauze were all left in here for me.

I crushed half an 8mg Mallincrodt pill, then using a plastic cup the nurses use to bring in medication (which happens to have liquid volume gradations on the side) I squirted in 5cc's of saline and poured the powder in. using a sterile swab I stirred the mixture well, then let it set for about 45minutes till I worked up the courage. Then I took a cotton, wadded it up as best I could, then placed it into the cup. after it had soaked up the liquid I sucked up as much as I could with the empty syringe (no needle, just a plastic connector tip which fits with the valve on the end of my catheter). I repeated the filtering process 3 times using new cottons and adding a couple cc's of saline each time to dilute it. Finally, I sucked it up into a 5cc syringe (which ended up being exactly full because I was able to measure the liquid in the cup using the gradations on the side) and it was PERFECTLY clear and particle free.

I almost didn't do it. But soon I realized that my nurse was busy and it would be another 2 hours or so before I could get my normal shot from her so I said fuck it.

I hooked the syringe up to the valve, after swabbing both the plastic tip of the syringe and the valve end of the catheter. I depressed the plunger halfway, and immediately felt the dilaudid rush, so I pressed it slowly the rest of the way. I then flushed my catheter with normal saline from a fresh, sterile flush kit, to make sure none of the precious drug would lie trapped and useless inside the catheter tube. Then I cleaned up my mess and put things away so I could use the important parts again (after swabbing them all with alcohol of course) and sat down in bed to enjoy my high.

But... the enjoyment was short lived. I still felt the wonderful Dilaudid high, but I was anxious about the shot, and anxious about side effects and if I was going to depress my immune system too far and if I was going to kill myself, and suddenly I felt a stitch in my chest and it hurt and I felt short of breath and I started to freak out...

Has anyone else experienced this sort of reaction when shooting dilaudid or when shooting for the first time?

I think I might just have been really worried about things going wrong and worked myself up into a panic attack, but I am not totally sure. the one thing I do know is that I ended up being fine, and although I forced myself not to nod off for several hours out of worry that I wouldn't wake up, I eventually realized I was going to be ok, and let myself drop off.

Woke up this morning feeling totally fine, so I think I'll try it again tonight, same dose, same method, but this time I'll know it is going to be fine so I won't get so worried and hopefully won't make myself so anxious that I need a shot of ativan, lol.


Just a reminder to everyone: I shot up last night at 2am IN MY HOSPITAL ROOM. I think even though it wasn't a perfect experience, its pretty awesome. So where's the craziest place you've shot up or snorted drugs?
Anyone else used a catheter to shoot drugs?

that was one hell of a story V, your posts never sieze to entertain me. You should write short stories or someshit, maybe write a novel, your writing is extremely detailed and vivid.

haha, its funny that you say that K, I have a degree in Creative Writing, and thats actually what I want to do with my life. I love to write, and I write both fiction and poetry, I'm working on a novel about my experience with forging prescriptions and drugs and shit.

I'm in the hospital because I have a genetic condition called Cystic Fibrosis. It basically changes the way proteins are exchanged in my cells and it makes the mucous that lubricates my lungs and the rest of my organs (people don't realize that all our organs in the body are lubricated with mucous the way an engine is lubricated with oil) too thick and viscous. Imagine the car analogy: Imagine you're driving a car but instead of engine oil you put in molasses... obviously it will cause some problems right?

So anyway CF makes my lungs fill up with this viscous fluid which becomes a breeding ground for infections so I have to come into the hospital for a couple weeks anywhere from once to three times a year or so to clean out the fluid and bacteria. I get put on heavy antibiotics and tons of physical therapy to help clear the shit out of my lungs.

But I also have my chronic pain problem in my joints which is related to my Cystic Fibrosis. So I when I come in I have to do all that stupid shit but I also get to have a ton of opiates. Plus now they are sending me home with OC 80's and Dilaudid 8's, so even though it kinda sucks to be in here, I've learned how to manipulate the system to at least be comfortable while I'm here ;-)

But man, shooting the dilaudid last night was a trip. I loved it, and I think I'm going to try again tonight but with a better attitude so I don't get so anxious.

But the most awesome thing is that while I'm here I have all the supplies I need to IV these dillies and it is so easy and pain free cause I don't have to use a needle at all! I am working on the nurses right now to see if I can scam a couple micron filters from the lab. I haven't figured out a good reason why I'd need one yet, lol. But that would make me feel that much safer about it. However like I said in my story, my shot was so clear and beautiful and perfect that I doubt it was dangerous at all. I think its probably the best I could have done. I filtered three times through a cotton and cleaned all the materials heavily with alcohol pads.

damn V you are crazy, but im glad you know what you are doing, i bet that felt so good and im sure that since it was your first time thats why you got all worked up and thought something was going to go wrong. I be tonight will be a lot better. i remember when i got shot up with dilaudid, it was one of the most intense feelings of euphoria i have ever experienced short but awesome. That was at a hospital were i would feel save with the shit I have never had any sense but man i would love it if i came across some

Dude, I am afraid I'm hooked now, at least for while I'm here. They are giving me 18mg oral Dilaudid every 3 hours so I'm just pretending to take it while actually putting it in my stash bottle in my backpack with the Oxys i've been secreting away as well. But that means I can basically IV however much I want while I'm in here plus if I really want I can call the doc and get a legit 3mg shot from them (but they are stingy with that since I'm leaving in a couple days and they want me to be on oral meds only when I leave

Ahhhhhhhhhh......

It is just so fucking easy. I have essentially unlimited access to all the supplies I need, all the pills, all the syringes, all the alcohol wipes, all the normal saline (easiest on the bloodstream since it has the same salt content as your blood) I need, and of course special antiseptic hand soap, tons of cleaning supplies, and these little plastic pill cups with liquid volume marks on the side, and of course, tons of gauze cottons for filters. They have micron filters in the lab and even in the supply room but I haven't figured out how to get at them yet. While getting those filters would be nice, the solution I end up with after filtering 3 times though 12ply cotton gauze pads is absolutely clear and free of any particulate matter. So while I kinda freaked out my first time, I wasn't worried this time which allowed me to really enjoy this shot (its taken me like 30min to type this post cause I'm so high and keep getting distracted and nodding off)

I wonder how much of the pills get wasted when I shoot them? I am more concerned about safety at the moment rather than being sure I get every bit of the pill..

So my guess is if I put 6mg crushed up into my liquid I probably lose at least 1mg. Thats my guess. Otherwise I feel like I'd be on the floor right now since I am only used to the 3mg shots the doctors had been administering. So If I had truly just hit myself with 6mg I think I really would have fucked myself up.

God I can feel it from my feet all the way up to my head.

sorry about your condition i used to work at Natl. Jewish Hospital so i know what CF is but on topic your in the hosp. got sterile equiptment using saline surronded by nurses and Drs---enjoy----welcome to my nightmare

Anyone else used a catheter to shoot drugs?i mentioned this before.. put in a IV and then do the dope, that way you dont have to keep sticking yourself.. but you have to rinse the IV and do it right..

The first time I shot Dilaudid I decided to do an 8mg shot at once, ha. The guy who was mixing it up for me in the spoon was a fucking magician when it came to dope in a spoon because there were never any stray particles, they all disappeared. Anyways, I sat on the side of his shower and as I got the plunger all the way down I fell back into the tub and just sat there for ten minutes feeling fucking magnificent. I got hooked and shot Dilaudid k4 and k8 nearly everyday for three more years. There were some days when I would shoot ten or twelve k8 pills a day, it was wild. I had pretty much unlimited money due to an amazing job and an amazing connect. Those were the glory days but now I am on MMT so I very rarely do I have a reunion with the spike. I still love her, though, don't forget that.
