shooting XR?

swim has a few oxycontin 10mg extended release. would they still be okay to shoot even though they're XR?

and if it's ok, what special preperations should swim take, or do differently while preparing them for shooting?

oxycontin means extended release. oxycontin is a conjunction, or two words stuck together. it means oxycodone continuous release. in otherwords, XR, which means extended release. there are threads on here about shooting pills, but if I were you I'd look it up on erowid. there are several detailed descriptions on there. but, for a quick assist, here's what you do:

First, remove the coating on the outside. I'm assuming your pills are not some generic bullshit cause if they are then don't try this method.

if your pills are brand name purdue oxy, then they are white. pop it in your mouth and suck on it for a second to get the coating wet. then wipe it off with a paper towel till its all gone.

next, crush it up into the finest powder you can

next, mix the powder with some distilled water, or normal saline

next, stir and let sit to make sure the oxy absorbs into the water while the insoluble binders and other bad shit stay solid.

finally, use a cotton to soak up the liquid and draw it up through the cotton into your syringe, being careful not to suck up any of the waxy, chalky, white shit.

then shoot it.

keep in mind, shooting pills is dangerous. there are tons of harmful binders and insoluble matter in pills like this that will tear your veins apart if you let them. unless you know what you are doing, just crush the OC up and snort it. you'll still feel a great buzz, but you can be sure you won't fuck it up.

dude: read the beginning of my post: all oxycontin are XR. there's no such thing as an oxycontin that is NOT XR. there is oxyCODONE which is not XR, but oxycontin literally means that it is XR. and yeah, its safer to inject oxycontin than any other pill form of oxycodone.

there are many people who shouldn't shoot anything. people who don't do their research and don't understand the mechanics of the drugs they are using (or who can't even keep the names and different kinds of drugs straight) shouldn't use drugs. they will eventually make a mistake. either they will die, or they will have a horrible, debilitating injury.

I agree shooting these oxys isnt a good idea.. But I thought about it, of course dismissed the idea. But if my Dr, decides to up me to over 10mgs .. I might try and bang one..

yo orison, I did give him the safe method. I would never tell someone not to use drugs or not to IV drugs because thats not my responsibility. It is my responsibility to answer questions with accurate information, and since he asked about "XR" i answered. no worries, but if you'd read my first post you'll see I told him the same thing you did, just more detail.

So you get 10mg OC's from your doc? I used to get them too, and they used to get my high, I remember how great it was when one 10mg OC used to make me feel like a million bucks.

I've tried to bang one once but my GF came home in the middle of it and she would NOT have been happy to see me doing that so I had to hide my gear and I just drank the OC liquid I'd made so as not to waste it.

If you are going to IV pills, you should try to get a hold of the syringe filters that filter out micron sized particles so you know you are getting the safest possible hit.

sometime a 10mg does me nice, I take em one day and lay off them the next..
If I wanna get a buzz, I do about 30mg.. They dont do shit for the pain anyway. :)

Oh gotcha, sorry i got defensive. I had just gotten a dilaudid shot from my nurse (im in the hospital) so I was flying over the moon at the time and probably got confused. Anyway, I'm glad you have such a nice low tolerance and that every other day thing is a great idea, it helps with the tolerance and with the dependence issues of course.

But I'm sorry to hear they don't help the pain. What does help? what kind of pain are you in and from what condition? (if you are willing to share that info)

I have nerve pain, carpal tunnel..,, Im just riding it out now, Its pretty annoying sometimes. .. :(
been twice misdiagnosed.. Dont know what to believe myself, but im going with the carpal tunnel fits all symptoms.

oh ok. shit yeah if it is carpal tunnel, oxy probably won't help too much with the pain. at least, not a doses that will still allow you to be awake, lol. did you talk to your doctor about gabapentin (Brand name Neurontin) or pregabalin (Brand name Lyrica) ? these two drugs are indicated for nerve pain and for pain in the extremeties like arms, legs, hands, wrists, ankles, etc. Lyrica is supposed to be better, but I've only taken Neurontin and all I can say is that it didn't help my pain much but it certainly made me less anxious (it is prescribed off-label as a mood stabilizer). Lyrica is new, and is being advertised as the "cure" for fibromyalgia. It also has more of an abuse risk, meaning it is probably more fun as a drug. If I were you I'd ask your doc if you could try Lyrica in addition to your Oxy because I bet that would help your pain and make you feel good.

Good luck man, I sure hope you find something that helps. Chronic pain without relief is the worst thing ever.

I think Im going to go to an entirely different doctor, for the lyrica. Ive taken them before. But not for what I have now. think there may be some relief with them, but all the running around i did a month ago for this stupid nerve shit, Im gonna sit back and take the oxys while I can get them..
For a while the oc effected my temperament, cause I wasnt used to dealing with not being able to use my fingers and stuff.. And the numbness is annoying .

Also, what did you think of Lyrica? I've been considering trying to get some from my doc but I don't want to waste my time if it is no good.

Sorry if I am getting confused by your post, I just want to clarify what was making you irritable and where the numbness and not using your fingers was coming from. I'm way fucked up right now so it is probably really obvious I just don't get it, lol.

Anyway, good luck my friend. I hope you can find something to take away your pain, and I hope you dont have to see a bunch of different doctors to do so.
