Norco???

Recently got a script for norco 10's, (10 mg hydrocodone and 325 APAP) can I take more than the recommended dosage safely? I'm 230lbs, relatively low tolerance, and not on any other meds right now.

Uh... you need to take at least 3 grams (thats 3000 mgs) in a day to start doing damage to the liver. I once took over 50/5000 in a day, Im fine.

well he could take like 8 and still not be close to doing liver damage. plus thats 80mgs of hydro. maybe even 9 or 10.

i thought i read somewhere that you couldnt go over 4000mgs of apap before you did damage? instead of 3000?

If you have a low tolerance than I would pop 2 and see hwo you feel. If nothing that pop another. Just take it gradually.

Titration seems to be the way to go with this one. Thanks guys. Btw, 4000mg is the actual magic APAP number. I've heard of people who have downed 4000+ despite the warnings, and just had to deal with stomach pains. However, that is stupid.

Ive never gotten stomach pains from apap but i obviously havent gone over 4000. i dont think ive even reached near 4000.

some people are different. i personally think people get stomach pains from apap even if they dont take that much, its all in their head due to all these tylenol commercials that scare you into thinking taking 3 tylenol instead of 2 is dangerous.

of course there is also the fact that some people have a bad reaction to apap.
