Just curious what kind of withdrawls can I expext when I stop using lorazepam, im curently taking approx 5-7 mg a day.

Same as alcohol withdrawl...if you dont ween yourself, you can have a seizure. Try slowly decreasing your doseage. Especially if you are taking 5-7mg a day, thats a high dose. Dont stop cold turkey.

it depends how long you have been taking them aswell.

about 3 years now, i just never knew there would be withdrawls from it my dr. never mentioned that part

yea they like to forget those funny little details. Since you have been on them for so long, I would see a Dr. Better to be safe then sorry. He can tell you how to decrease properly. Lorazepam withdrawl is not fun. Good luck

is it similar to opiate withdrawls?

no I dont think so but I could be wrong..Ive never taken opiates b4 Im allergic. When you go through benzo withdrawl, you shake or get treamors...your anxiety increases, nausea, insomnia, heart rate increases, arythmia (no idea how to spell that)you can have seizures and even die (extreme but not unheard of). When I was on them I stopped cold turkey, the first day with out I was fine, but the second day I was anxious and third day I had a seizure, I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with my heartrate at 188bpm. So please be careful.

4mg a day sometimes 5 for about a year.
