I know this is probably a silly question for this forum, but I'm really having trouble deciding on whether or not to cut my hair- it's probably about 18 inches long now, and I've had it long for a majority of my life. I know I need to just get it over with, and I shouldn't be so attatched to my hair- but it's hard to part with it, I'm afraid of what will happen if it looks bad- I'm not so much afraid of what it will look like to other people as what it will to me. But then I have to remember that I can donate it and they can make a wig out of it for cancer patients, and it will grow back, I'm probably just nervous about the growing-back period if I don't like it. I'm mad at myself for thinking that way and being attatched to something, especially as simple as hair.

Do what YOU want to do mate. You are your own person, don't let what you feel is expected of you (as a Buddhist) screw that up.

Blessings

Some people think you need a shaved head to be a buddhist; these people are morons. Just wanted to say that.

ANyways, just do what you think is right. It is just hair, it grows back, and clearly there's more important things in life. You say you're more worried about what you'll think than what others will. Why would you care what you look like if it isn't for others? I think if you don't care what others think of you, things like hair style or clothes fashions and all that becomes irrelevant. Seems like something you should think about, maybe it's a sign of some other issue you need to work on.

Now that I've pointed out the mote of dust in your eye, I'll go back to trying to get this wood beam out of mine. Peace~

I have my mind set on cutting it and donating it to locks of love- they need it more than I do.
