This will also be my ongoing hiking thread for all of the shorter hikes that I do..this will also work so I don't have to start a thread every time I go out.

Went on a hike today..it has actually been awhile..probably 3 weeks or so, which is a long time for me..

Today, I just went up Box Springs mountain which is about 4 miles from my house and is the tallest mountain here in Riverside at around a 3000 ft elevation..not to big but always a nice walk..I did about a 6 mile roundtrip this morning..so 3 miles uphill and 3 miles downhill..
I came across 4 snakes, 1 was a rattler (I screamed and did some kind of odd dance)..this mountain during the summertime is swarming with them..today I tried to keep the bushwacking to minumum..which is something I rarely do, but this year seems like a lot of extra snakes..

the pictures were taken from my cell phone (poor quality) and the picture of my grill/mug was right when I reached the top..I forgot my sunglasses if you cant tell by my squinting...you can see the satellite towers behind me..yes, they ruin the outdoorness.
