Just found this online...

Scenario 1:

1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.

2009 - Police called and SWAT team arrives — they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it.

Scenario 3:

1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal’s office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.

1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.

2009 - Billy’s dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy’s sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy’s mom has an affair with the psychologist.

Scenario 5:

Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.

1957 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock.

2009 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario 6:

1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.

2009 - Pedro’s cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro’s English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

Scenario 7:

Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.

1957 - Ants die.

2009- ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents — and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny’s dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Far effing out! We can still get a laugh out of something so sadly true.

Right on the money! Laughter is the only medicine at the moment...

Ain't that the truth!

The country we live in now is not the one most people think it is... that country is dead and gone. This is a bank and corporate dictatorship and Washington D.C. is the world's biggest and most expensive puppet show.

Hi all...

Yes, this is a pretty sad commentary on our world...I miss the simplicity. Hope we can get back there someday.

A little guy used to follow me and my friend around some when we were 10 or 11 and one day we got tired of it,so we tied him in a chair, tied a rope to the chair and pulled him up in the rafters of my friends junky old garage and left him there. His sister heard him hollering for help a few hours later and got him down.---------------We were about the same age and made a gun out of pipe and wood that would shoot an arrow a block or so,fired off by a firecracker.Local cop took it away when he saw us firing arrows into the tree in the park.He asked to please don't make things like that anymore.Blew a couple boards off my friends garage with one of the pipe bombs we used to make. His mom asked us to be more quiet ,please.Made cannons that would shoot car axles a quarter mile -------------ahh--the 40's & 50's.Just where would we be nowadays with that shit?hyperbole my young friend?I think not.

i think there are still quite a few places, throughout the States,

where the folks are still responsible for their own lives (literally).

The "Rules" are left up to them to decide,

regardless of Federal, and even some State, laws.

Some examples are:

Our children are taught to drive by the time they're about 9 - 10 years old ~ when you live in the middle of nowhere, your life might depend on your kid getting you to the nearest hospital.

Although we have Open Container laws, they are enforced very selectively ~ it is EXPECTED that the menfolks will stop to get an ice-cold beer on the way home from the fields or whatever work they do.

The guns ~ we need our guns, for protection of ourselves from wild creatures, for protection of our herds from predators, etc., etc. Our kids HAVE to understand the dangers and the proper uses.

Unfortunately, the only places like that anymore seem to all be super rural.

So many thing we did during our teenagerhoods...........

We'd have a criminal history a mile long now..........

Old man actually beat up a cop when he was 18 or so. The cops partner stood there and let him for a while, then told him to stop finally and turned him loose. No charges. Seems nobody liked the guy...

He also got pulled over driving drunk a couple times without a license. Cop told him to go straight home.

And First time I got busted at 17 for "possession of a dangerous drug" and "Loitering with the intent to use a dangerous drug", I got hauled off to jail, bailed out for nothin', my mom told off the cops who arrested us, and the eventual fine was only $25 and the judge told me I should find some better friends.......
Nowadays, I'd STILL be sittin' in jail waiting for them to reduce bond.

The cops in my hometown would catch us with a shit-load of beer(no drugs in those days--the 50s---'ceptin rumours of weed, smoked by musicians)--and say"I told you boys not to drink beer in town--now get your asses out to the river. They found me sittin' in my car passed out blockin' the road one time so nobody could get by---one cop took me and dumped me on my front lawn and they pushed my car to the side of the road.Of course the town was 2000 strong then and dead after dark--but still.A friend and I opened the side door to the movie theater which caused the alarm bell and a blinding light to go off and pelted the shit out of a few dozen people with water balloons and ran like hell after. The fuzz knew we did it ,but just said --"cute trick assholes-don't do that shit again".-------ahh, the good ole days.

You know, there's really no way to describe what it was like in a dusty little farming town 32 miles south of Fresno in the 40's and 50's.No go-carts,unless we put them together,no TV,crank phones hangin' on the wall,(my # was 354-r--why I remember that I'll never know)no big box stores--our bicycles and Daisy BB guns, the 12 cent movie theater and our imaginations were our sources of entertainment.Oh yeah--no crime,to speak of.We had the run of the streets, parks and countryside even as little kids 'till it was 5 or 6 in the evening and time to come home for dinner.Enough rambling from an old guy---just know that it was an amazing and wonderfull time to be a kid.

Johnny’s dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

ahahahah

and i was expecting like 2009: Johnny's parents think he's mentally disturbed and he ends up in a psych ward for the rest of his life
