Surrounded by many, yet so alone
Shaped by the river, a single stone
Displayed to the world, an unchanging face
Splashing downriver an unslowing pace
Love's chance gone astray
Held off forever at bay
Around turns the Earth
But gone is the worth
The end is near
Yet without fear.

Abiding night
Tragic sight
Hope is gone.

Stormy Weather

There's thunder in the night
and lightning in the sky
but the water on my face
is falling from my eye
My dreams have all crumbled
and been washed away
The storm holds the power
and keeps hope at bay
It tears up my heart
like the wind blows a feather
Up and down, 'round and around
blown about in stormy weather.
