I sweat like MAD when I sleep, and it seems to happen only when I'm w/d'ing.
Does anyone else get this?

Well, I just woke up soaked in sweat again. (about an hour or so ago).
I managed to dry off, but my bed is still soaked so I'm going to have to wait for it to dry off. I hate it because it makes me feel disgusting and ridiculous but I can't help it.
Does anyone know if this nice little side effect subsides once withdrawl is gone? I've been tapering off for the past week and a half and cut down from about six 80's per week to about one 40 per week.
edit : I was just thinking - maybe the reason I don't sweat when I HAPPEN to sleep on oxy is that the oxys somehow moderate my body temperature, preventing me from sweating.
Another thing I should note is that this doesn't happen EVERY night that I'm w/d'ing, it's pretty much random. For example, I woke up tonight soaked in sweat. Tomorrow night I might not wake up at all and have a great sleep, but then the next night I could still wake up drenched again. Is that wierd to anyone else or am I the only one who thinks so?

prolonged opiate use fuc*ks with you how you perceive temperature for some time after you quit. thats probably the last lingering symptom of withdrawal, and can last up to 2 weeks. its due to the brain re-adjusting after being f*cked with for so long. eventually it goes away and the brain re-balances, and generally sooner rather than later if you stick with not using.
you said your down to one 40 a week?! huh? why are you even taking that 40...just stop. one 40 a week is nothing but as long as your brain keeps getting exposure to the drug, even in small amounts, it delays the healing process.

I just find that opiates make me a much better person, so it's hard for me to put them down.
Someday though.

After moving to a different province and not being able to find a doctor, I was off of pain meds for over 2 months. Sweated waterfalls every night. Once I found a doctor he thought it was serious and tested me for AIDS, TB, etc. Everything came up negative and the night sweats stopped THE VERY NIGHT I got back on my Oxy. So ya, they can persist for quite a while.
