Tie dye from a store?

Does it count as cheating if you buy a tie dye shirt from a store? I'm a bit reluctant to try to make my own since my boyfriend is not that keen on the idea of me playing around with dye's since I'm known to be messy:p

I wouldn't consider it cheating lol.

And tie dying isn't that messy if you wear rubber gloves and keep the dye off your skin. Just do it outside :)

I think it's cheating only if you buy one of those liquid blue tie-dyes that all look alike or if you buy the mass produced dyes from Walmart or where ever.

There are several on-line tie-dye stores (including this one!) where all the dyes are made by the people selling them to you.

Yeah, I'm with Hippiestead. Mass produced shirts have no feeling left in them. I tyedye my own shirts and i really do make a huge mess, i don't like to wear rubber gloves so my hands are stained for days... but i kinda like it. its how I do my art. besides it will always clean up, and the shirt lasts forever! it's fun to be messy!
