I am a chronic pain sufferer and I was on the generic shit until the pharmacy guy one day told me that there was a lawsuit by perdue and now only the bran name was available til 2011. For months I have been on brand name. Yesterday I went in and they hand me this Malinkot shit does anyone know if the patend was reversed? Was there just some generic somewhere and this was a fluke? Somebody talk to me DAMIT!! :(

Na, Purdue is still making their brand name OC's. They are going through a lawsuit, though. I think there are only 1 or 2 other companies that are making generic time release oxycodone. Mallincrodt is for sure.. and I've heard about another pill that has ABG on it, not sure what company this is. Sounds like the pharmacy either didn't have the Purdue tablets or they routinely substituted it with generics. Hey, if you're hurting and these aren't going to work, call the pharmacy and see what they can do. Certain meds orig manufacturers have a superior product. Depakote and Wellbutrin are a couple examples. This can affect therapeuitc values, so if these don't work, you have a valid reason to request brand name oc's. Hope it works out for ya!

You don't have to take the generics tell the pharm you want the name brands.if they don't have them find a pharm that does.May cost you some time but well worth it.You don't need a reason to ask for name brands. The pharm will probaly be glad you say name brand only.More paper for them.it is a for profit business.
